Don't know all niji songs, but I despise most chuuba songs. Not Diamond City Lights though. That is a very VERY good song that I listened to on repeat, which didn't happen with any other chuuba releases except, on a much lesser scale, Red Heart and Unison.
Only complaint is the weak lyrics but that's easily offset by the fact that Finana's lines matched her perfectly and the fact that I rarely ever give a shit about any lyrics.
The melody is nuts. The amplifying tension before the chorus is perfect.

It actually sounds like a contemporary pop song that's cognizant of contemporary western trends and production styles without just feeling like a hackneyed facsimile of every other current radio hit

I'll cause trouble for invoking Hololive here (since I'll get accused of baiting) but having listened to Calli's output (as the primary musical talent of HoloEN), it must be said, Blackout does make her own material look a little outdated. This isn't a new criticism mind but it's worth highlighting again since most vtuber fans cross "lines" without caring as much about the company as much as the talents themselves.

And though most casual fans aren't necessarily major musical consumers, as vtuber fans, they'll quite likely have heard both, making said contrast particularly pertinent in their minds.
