I never looked at the lower half of the model until today. What the fuck.
Her thighs are longer than her torso (her legs about as long) and the gap is unnaturally wide as if she gave birth to a watermelon (the hips are CONCAVE between her thighs and waist!).
Did the artist use Crow Demons from Dark Souls for anatomy reference?

Also, looking at the whole body, either her head is too large or her shoulders are too narrow. But that's in comparison to already strange proportions.
Oh and the arms are are also freakishly long.

Actually I'm aware of hip dip. If you notice in the unedited concept art, not only is the thigh gap ridiculous compared to your picrel because the thighs are just that much apart (come to think of it, where would the joint even be), the lower waist pokes out to form a bump (unlike in your picrel), making the hip dip very noticeable.

If you want a real answer its that all of Wada's concept art looks a bit janky, she (and 90% of artists) use poses and what not to iron out the imperfections of anatomy. I imagine that drawing what is essentially concept art to be given L2D is really hard, you have to draw it non animated with the intention of it being animated.

It's not that I wasn't aware of hip dip, but the curve of the skirt throwing me off. I admit I should have worded it better, maybe not that the hip dip is concave, but that the overall silhouette seemed abnormal.

friendly reminder that once you understand anatomy, you can break the conventional proportions of 8 heads, bottom of crotch at 4 heads, knees at 2 heads, etc formula and start going nuts with exaggerating for desired effects.

its genuinely sophomoric to harp over being perfectly proportionate based on a formula. its the first thing you learn in figure drawing and anatomy, and its the first thing you abandon when you get good enough to actually design a character
