The result wouldn't be much different. There are company vtubers that have huge subscriber numbers but can't manage to hold a triple-digit audience. There's also plenty of room for small vtubers to grow a dedicated fan base and achieve good viewer numbers. I've noticed the number of likes during the stream is way higher than the number of live viewers. People are showing up to like the stream but aren't staying to watch, at least not live.

Temako received a level of promotion that even established companies would kill for, but she hasn't done anything with it. She hasn't done a good job of pandering to her existing viewers. Sometimes it seems like she does more audience interaction on twitter than she does on youtube, though I might be biased. She does a good job of sucking the dicks of the various idiots who only show up for personal attention, though. Playing Apex on Switch when you own a decent computer is a joke, if you're going to be a gaming vtuber and torture us with Apex at least do it properly.

Sometimes I have to wonder what the fuck she watches to think that people want to see a vtuber like that. I wonder what the fuck you guys watch to not know this. I'm glad she's trying different things now. Both her successes and her failures are due to her effort and personality. It has nothing to do exposure, or with company vs. independent.

Schedules has its benefits and demerits, in my opinion. Of course it's better to ensure fans can catch her streams which is positive. But Temako isn't the sort of person who would make a schedule with "I'll probably stream something," So instead of finding some indie game and thinking that it would be cool to stream, she just plans out "English study/ Apex with viewers. and then a planned collab and that's it. So we get more streams, but less variety.

Most vtubers with an active presence on /vt/ either post in their threads or reference things that happen here. I wouldn't know how to pander to OnJ users, I don't know the culture there. Admittedly my statement on pandering was too harsh, she made an effort to do things like gartic phone and english study. It's not like there's much content here nowadays.

I use "audience interaction" as meaning more than just talking to chat. The content that you make for your viewers is also a type of interaction. Zatsudan. Karaoke streams sometimes take requests, can help build a sense of personality, and are something people can enjoy in any language. Marshmallow reading gives the viewers a chance to ask questions. She wouldn't even need to use marshmallow when she could just take questions from her threads. As a form of pandering. ASMR is also a good example, there's an entire category of ASMR vtubers that make content to help people go to sleep. These ASMR vtubers are very careful when it comes to reading and responding to viewer comments. The audience interaction in this case is that the vtuber does ASMR, and now the viewers are relaxed. Responding to comments in this case might hurt the audience interaction. This is why the annoying people are worse during ASMR, they are interfering with your interaction with Temako.

I think what that would be for her would be typing a sentence into google translate, then reading it out loud.

I agree with you, and I would also like to see something like that.
But I have seen a fair amount of holo's do english only challenges, and the only ones that I found wildly entertaining are the ones where they just turn off the filter and say the first english words that comes to mind. Carefully constructing a sentence to describe what they're doing in a game is less entertainment and more "Her english is so cute, this is adorable"
But that is good for the sake of improving.
