Fucking this 100%. Coco created the ARK hype in Hololive because she hated Minecraft and wanted to play ARK, and it fucking tanked their numbers. So once everyone realized that Minecraft was where the numbers were, that was the end of ARK and definitely one of the reasons why Coco left as well.

Hololive only plays Minecraft so much because they are number fags, even the largest members like Gura/Pekora lose over 10k or so viewers whenever they stream another game. Minecraft is undoubtedly boring when streamed as frequently as Hololive streams it, and it sucks that the Minecraft fags got so attached to Hololive, but it is an easy game to stream and offers easy interactions between the members.

It's the interactions between members that make or break a minecraft stream (like Kronii and Irys misunderstanding each other and in a later stream encountering gura)
I thought the Kronii and Mumei collab would be pure kino but surprisingly there was zero chemistry. I'm not one to luthorpost but I honestly felt like Mumei was sabotaging the stream by being annoying.

No, that only lasted while the hype lasted. Her and Choco's ARK addiction lasted WAY beyond the hype and did more damage than good. Both of them were struggling to get 1.5K viewers a few months after the hype was dead. And this was at the height of vtuber popularity when every normie was jumping on the bandwagon and some holos were regularly pulling in 30K+ on every stream. Not just Pekora and Gura.

Choco's ARK addiction maybe, but Aki's non-ARK streams had way worse viewer numbers than her ARK ones.

Plus, even late into 2020, I was watching her daily, and her ARK streams were averaging 4-5k viewers during the day.

She was at the absolute bottom popularity-wise, and once they banned ASMR, she basically had no regular content before ARK.
