Knowing some elementary Japanese is a plus. Depending on the time of day there are translators. Or you can wait till after the stream and people sometimes mention or regurgitate some of the more important topics in the comments.

But in my experience you don't really need to know 100% what she is saying to enjoy the content. Just put on some head phones as you go to bed and listen to her voice is all you need. As long as your not a complete ESL you can follow along.

I'll agree that it does look weird, the lack of accents (on top of Polka's usual lack of fashion sense) doesn't help it and neither does the coat, looking weird no matter how she's moving.
My main problem (aside from the above paragraph) was the way her hair framed her face, and that got fixed with the new hairstyle, so I'm not complaining... much. I'm not at all a fan of it but it's not like it replaces her default.

The likelihood is high, although I don't think she would cater her content solely around 5ch comments.

She's VERY sensitive to negative comments; she's basically said as much in Member's Posts. She Ego Searches herself and a bunch of the other Holomem have commented about her ON/OFF personality.

She is very self-conscious about how others are viewing her. She even apologized on stream for lying to some other Holos about how much she could eat because she didn't want to seem different and the fact she lied was eating her up inside.

I am very appreciative of Flare in this regard, for sticking by Polka and bringing her into Shiranui Kensetsu. If you go back and watch any of the first few Minecraft streams after they met you can feel the awkwardness ooze from Polka as she's trying to not be "offensive" to Flare.

Now look at Polka! She's practically a member of the Bakatare Trio (Quatro?) and Flare is basically dragging Polka out of her shell and getting her to be comfortable around the other girls.

Flare is basically Polka's security blanket. Go look at Polka's collaborations: if it's not with the other 5th Gen girls, then 90% of the time Flare is there with her.

As much as I like Nene, I don't think it would make much sense to make a /nenepol/, since they don't collab as often as shishilamy. But I wouldn't discard the idea entirely because the new EN threads are making it harder to keep a thread alive. It would make more sense if it was a full on NePoLaBo thread.
I still enjoy having a thread exclusively for Polka though, even if its slow as it is and fellow Zains bumping it which I'm very grateful for, so I'm very biased.

But as people mentioned before, it would be kind of hard to have a discussion about any member of nepolabo outside of a big event and it would probably dilute specific discussion about member-only stuff. /Pol/ka is here to stay. This was the only 5th gen thread that was able to survived the Coco graduation spam, which was much worst than what we have now. We have no problems staying afloat atm.

I'm not opposed to have more Pol related threads. The more the better, but the atmosphere of /pol/ka is very different from other 5th gen threads so I don't think a thread merger makes sense.

If you guys just need help bumping 5th gen content we can always bump you guys with stuff from 5th gen if we see your threads are about to get saged. Assuming we all do the same for each other.

Today's the last day of my Polka membership so I hit the cancel button a couple hours ago so it doesn't renew. Reason is I'm a turbo poorfag and have rent coming up and no food at home so I can't really afford it.

Then 30 minutes later she puts up a members only frame? With only english in the title too...I know channel owners get notifications when a membership ends...did she see mine and feel bad? Get yourself an ARS membership, Polka would understand. Membership to her is mostly just a divide between casual and more devoted omaruza who want more than the regular Polka you usually get. I get the impression that Polka is probably one of the holos with the more stable financial situations without hololive in mind, and probably does this more as a hobby to be an idol vtuber than to make it her primary source of income. I don't think most people would go through the effort of making so many song covers when they aren't producing it themselves as well with the idea of making direct revenue from it
