I want to see hololive's 3D get better, but they still lack things like moving hands. is the tech still too advanced, or is cover too cheap?

its a joke how bad covers tech is, they fucking use VR for tracking instead of tracking suits. we have shit like apex mirage being directly streamed from mocap in their cinematic engine, hell even codemiko has far more advanced tech for being a solo. she can transform her proportions, use dynamic alt models, turn her model into a controllable game character, etc

There's nothing wrong with that. Tracking suits are much more of a hassle to use and do not offer anything better than VR trackers. Not to mention the suits are much more expensive.

the enterprise version of LeapMotion has a significantly better tracking range, works in worse lighting conditions and isn't that much more expensive. there's also open source drivers that integrate it with the SteamVR environment meaning that functions as any other device (assuming Cover still bases their setup around VR equipment.. considering the ongoing partnership with HTC and Yagoo being a VRfag it may be to some extent). pair that with a neck mount and you're good to go

Cover focuses more on Live2d quality than 3d. Nijisanji has better 3d but their behind with Live2ds as I don't think they have anyone that is comparable to someone like Mori.
