Holy shit this movie hits hard in the feels. I remember watching it on release back then and really empatising with K, but now its just gotten worse. I am literally Ryan Gosling. That scene was the solidification that K is not and never was special. The random stock Joi model called him "Joe", which he thought was the name his Joi came up with but it's just the standard name for "customer" programmed into Joi models. At the end of the scene the Joi stands up and returns to her advertisement poster and the camera lingers on the tagline "Everything you want to hear."
Which is exactly what his Joi did. Told him everything he wanted to hear.

K WANTED to be the human/replicant hybrid that's why Joi gave him a "name", called him a "real boy", "birthed, not made" that's everything K wanted to hear and therefore the only reason Joi was telling him these things. Our Joi scene came directly after this one which was just the additional kick in the nuts. Ironically in the end K was 'special' in a different way by reuniting Deckard and his daughter.

Agree on all points, also wanna add that K was also special because he "witnessed" the miracle, as it says near the beginning. I think its great how open the movie leaves its end, but i image that K was not just happy to have died for the cause of the "Revolution" that might free his people, but also to have managed to give the man he (wrongfully) assumed to be his father to achieve happyness. I still dont know if Deckard thought that K might be his son, their dialouge near the end is very wierd and i feel like it might imply that Deckard also suspected K as his son.
Also on another note, "Joe" aka literally average Joe being his name really hurts when you realize the truth about Joi.
