I'm playing through it now to try and stay ahead of her. The first boss I encountered that was a problem was the second Lord, who I had to drop the difficulty down to Moderate to beat. Googling around online seems to support the idea that he's the game's first filter boss. Not sure if it'll be a problem on normal mode. She might have to grind there if she's rushing through, but I've found that grinding doesn't really seem to do much for you in this game, at least at the early levels. It's better to have the best equipment you can craft at any given moment.
