No, Pekora's sense of humor is extremely Japanese, with a lot of overreacting like a Boke from a Boke-Tsukkomi routine; furthermore she gets a lot of millage from her being over the top arrogant and then getting her balloon popped and whining a lot as a result. Its funny, but it's Japanese funny, which rarely does well outside of japan.


That's not to say i don't like watching pekora, but frankly she's better in moderation.

Gura in her native language is adorkable cute and funny which plays well in the mass market, but she's not as high spec as the minecraft genious who can persevere through an all day jump quest suffering montage. In fact, she quit jump quest. And super metroid. Because she's a quitter. That's what separates the two.

Gura partually lucked into success by being as fun to watch as she was, but Pekora has the titanium backbone, unwavering patience and overt masochistic streak needed to suffer through the peak of cringekino until each and every viewer has had their good time. If you set numbers aside, there wouldn't even be anything to compare.

Pekora is a great streamer and a very hard worker, I loved her 3D performances as well, even though she's not quite a singing chuuba. Pekorandombrain is kino. She's very funny and creative for her Minecraft streams, but I also honestly like her commentary a lot and will always watch her playing games I personally like, even if they don't lend themselves well to her usual shenanigans.
She's really one of the strongest holos, if not the strongest, and she's not my oshi or even in a top 10 of my favorites. Hard not to choose her on this.
No hate for Gura either, it's just a tough comparison that she's only being put through because of numbers, not any real similarity in content.
