Why does Gur̃a sound British sometimes? And I don't mean when she's doing a fake British accent as a joke, I just mean unintentionally in conversation the way she speaks, sometimes it sounds British. Like in the TTRPG stream when she said "In the crevice?" What's up with that?

It depends on where they learned English and who from. If they were immersed in American or British English and learning from a native American or British English speaker, they'll tend to stick with an American or British accent with tinges of their native language. If they learned it in a non-English speaking country from another ESL, they're much more likely to get accent confusion ingrained for certain words and phrases that may be uncommonly used in the dialect they usually emulate.

I'm a manc bong and get tired of seeing posts like this over the internet. It's quite clear when people say "British Accent" they're not referring to a fucking geordie or scouser speaking in tongues, but obviously some regular southerner or london dialect. At a push maybe someone who sounds like Ned Stark from Game of Thrones. It's the same for Burgers. Anyone who refers to an American accent obviously isn't talking about some backwater sounding Texan, but just your standard American accent from any average US sitcom or drama.

Nobody in the US thinks that the Nu Yawk accent is posh. Boston/New England, maybe, but Americans who do speech improvement reps don't train themselves to sound like New Englanders.
The normal default American newscaster accent has been the Midland accent (aka the "Nebraska" accent), which was apparently chosen because Americans don't think it sounded like anywhere in particular. Today, the "General American" accent is either Midland or Western, which are pretty similar (the easiest way for normies to tell them apart is that Western accents have the cot-caught merger).

US "Posh" accents would be

"Neutral" US English accent (Spoken on our news programs/in media)

"Boston Brahmin/Mid Atlantic" accent, which you can hear in old movies but isn't really a thing anymore irl

"Southern Aristocracy" accent, like a Georgia accent

All the others are considerd yokels

I think this is probably the closest to the truth. Also the dude with the mayonnaise thing I was born back east but moved to the southwest when I was little my mother will still call it hellmann's instead of best foods so that doesn't actually prove anything.

So Gura's streams usually start 5pm for me. This is her an hour into re village and before someone calls bullshit I have a ss from the start of a different stream which she actually starts the game in her load screen showing how long she played and what time the last save was.

East coast here. Gura streams usually start at 20:00 for me. So that means she streams from the PST timezone? But that doesn't make any sense. Whenever she talks about what time something is, she always defaults to EST. Like, she'll ask is 8:00 pm works for chat. Although I think it's been awhile since the last time she said something like that.

>> No.9619392

>>9617746
Because in the early days didn't she ask what the best timezone for her to use was an Eastern had the most votes?
