I think it’s time to accept what was always going to be inevitable and thats the eventual declining longevity of Japanese media dying out in the west or so I would call it “the great jp entertainment recession.” I believe we are in the beginning stages of this. The numbers will only prove me right as en reclines harder in the future.

Vtubers have achieved sustainability in Japan because of the variety and numbers of them. There are multiple successful agencies with different niches.
In the west, it's just Hololive and Vshojo. There's also NijiEN but nobody knows it exists. That means there's like... less than 30 vtubers to choose from for your average surface level vtuber fan in the west. They aren't making guest appearances on TV like Japanese vtubers are, they aren't doing big 3D events, they just play Minecraft and Apex, over and over again.
This is why you don't see this drop in popularity with manga for example. Plenty of translated material for every niche. Vtubing is still a baby in the west. There's not even any corporate males yet and that's gonna make a big splash.
I know it hurts the hearts of Holofags and Vshojotrannies to hear, but for the good of the western vtuber industry, there needs to be more examples of success aside from them, and more variety.

It's because the west corrupts everything it touches. There's a reason manga has killed off the American comics industry. You can already see it happening in real time with Omegatranny. Next year HololiveEN will be hosting Black History Month streams, count on it.

HoloEN as a whole is starting to stagnate to recline HARD. NijiEN has seen an uptick in views since EN2 crashed and burned. HoloEN has to do something to stay relevant otherwise NijiEN and VShojo will overtake them in a year or less
