Alright, sorry for interrupting you guys, but I came over here bearing two things: A gift, and a little bit of praise.
First off, to set the stage, I'm normally at /hlgg/. There's this guy there who counts down the thread and compares it to the entire board as a whole. Right now that thread is about a clean half of the board's total post history, and you know how numberfags are about seeing glasses half empty and all that. So I wanted to go and start a side project, where I would go and do the same to other generals to try and get a better idea of just how much of the board is dedicated to discussion of streams and chuubas, and how much of the board is shitposting in the catalog.
So here's my findings, after spending about an hour counting down and collecting the data on you guys:

>Amount of posts made on /vt/ as a whole since the first /∞/ thread: 1,100,523 posts
>/∞/ as a percentage of /vt/'s full 9,500,000 posts: 0.6% of the board
>/∞/ as a percentage of /vt/ since the first /∞/ thread: 5.3% of the board
That's pretty interesting data, I think, and a surprisingly wide representation for /∞/, especially for a thread that was started less than a month ago. For comparison's sake with the total data I've gathered so far:

>/NijiEN/ as a total of all of /vt/'s posts: 4.5%
>percentage of /vt/'s total posts that consists of generals so far: 55.1%
I'll be looking at more generals over time, but I did want to specifically point out something I appreciated with you guys: The self-regulation of order.
For other thread counts I've done I've had a hell of a time working and making sure I don't miss any of the threads, because of mislinks or duplicates or someone forgetting a link in the chain. But you guys and your clock system have made it fucking easy to get accurate data. So thank you for that.

Actually, that reminds me, I find that particular slice of time, the last one million posts, to be an interesting test, since it gives somewhat different data when taken as it's own slice.
For you guys, it gives you as 5.3% of the board's posts in the last million. For those guys, it gives them 8.08% of the board's posts in the last million. Both of those rates are higher than the total percentage, but seem to indicate a squeezing out of the bait catalog posts, assuming the squeeze is hitting that direction, which would track with my home board having a slight rise in speed throughout all of this and not hitting a decline.

That's part of why I'm doing this whole shebang, actually. Because I know that overall, general threads tend to have a high amount of people who actually enjoy streams compared to catalog filler threads, which are mostly bait posts.
Over time, I want to get a good dataset that will more clearly show what percentage of /vt/ is General threads (which I somewhat broadly assign the role of "largely enjoys the hobby") and Catalog Threads (which I also broadly assign the role of "people who come here to shitpost over enjoy the hobby.")
My hope is that the amount of General content versus Shitpost content is at least a 60/40 split, which I think is feasible with just these last three datapoints so far.

As one of the thread makers, I'm really impressed with how orderly we are as well. No one here feels like they have the right to make threads, and if there's multiple thread makers, people always ask and defer first instead of everyone trying to make them. Also having the unwritten rule of waiting for the previous thread to be archived unless there are some crazy circumstances keeps the flow going as well.

While you're right in some ways, what I find interesting is that the growth of the main thread hasn't dipped throughout this whole thing. It's actually grown at a modest pace.
The development of oshi generals and non-Holo generals doesn't seem to be driven from break-off from the big thread, if the data I'm gathering pans out the way it seems to be. In actuality, it seems like the oshi generals are growing from the catalog naturally, growing from it's own power and interacting in a more, "co-existant" way with the hub at the center, as opposed to fighting to break away from it.
