Minecraft streams are great. Not a fan of the game itself, but the natural interactions that come from it are pure kino.
The asynchronous aspect is very important too. Every time they log in, they'll check what changed. Little bonds are formed like this, with back and forths without pressure and schedules getting involved, each doing their thing at their own pace. It bridges members together to eventually be comfortable enough doing one on one collabs.
Not to mention the big events are always fantastic.
The superior games won't magically come with all of that unless every single one of them migrates, and they won't.

You can turn it into anything, a casual zatsudan, a creative sandbox for your art, exploration, storytelling, you can fuel your autism pretty hard into complicated farms and redstone systems, you can do mini game or even music, you can do everything!
It's also the perfect game for collabs and interactions

I'd love to see them mess with terraria more, as most of the people I've spotted streaming it are literal whos that I can't stand more than five minutes of, but I accept that it's structure being much more in favor of being played as a game you complete instead of a building toy and requiring more focus such that it can't be treated as a glorified zatsudan (and the limits of users per map, and the inability to skin the player model into themselves, and so forth) render it unfavorable for the purposes for which the miney crafts are favored.

inferior to what? comparing across genres is unreasonable. it is a game relatively sufficient at what it tries to be, a weird mashup of metroidvania and block-by-block building game in two dimensions. minecraft attempts to be a block based constructive sandbox with some combat stapled on (originally because notch felt like it and nowadays because jeb and dinnerbong want to make a different kind of game but aren't allowed to) in a three dimensional, functionally infinite world, and is generally unmatched in success as such a game.
if you want to go on that it's "inferior" to something, find something that's trying to do the same thing.
