Is there some law that restricts women from learning to drive in Japan or is it purely biological?

This is such a pain to explain to burgers. When you can quickly take a bus/train to get where you need to be without having to find a parking space and being able to sleep/read manga on the way, why the fuck would you choose to drive?

You have to understand, in most of the west. Taking public transportation is suicidal. I'd rather be stuck in traffic for 3 hours a day than risk getting stabbed.

In EU-countries you really only have a car when you want to, not out of necessity. Public transportation can take you almost everywhere, bikes take you to the rest

Before you even get a license in japan you have to pay something like $2000 for the mandatory driver training, and after that the car registration and insurance are also expensive. So most people never learn to drive.

I've traveled across USA on a one month backpacking trip using only public transportation. Had zero issues. It was in 2011. I doubt things have changed that much, because I've heard the same 'hurr durr its suicidal' even back then.

This really depends on the place. The bus system in my area is really clean, albeit slow. If you live in a place with lots of homeless people that's when you have to start being wary of bus masturbators and junkies roaming the bus

I've been to 6 states, visited small and big cities. Statistically, if it were that bad I would at least have had some troubles. All people who were telling me its is dangerous never had any troubles themselves, and mostly were driving since they first got their licenses. That makes me believe that US public transportation isn't significantly worse than anywhere in the developed countries.

I'm glad you didn't get hurt on your field trip but take it from people who live in this hellhole every day of their lives, it's not a safe place to be.

>> No.9443425

No. It's costs a shitload of money to get a licence, a shitload of money to get a car, a shitload of money for petrol, parking is non-existant in the cities (unless you pay a fuckton) and it's easier to get around just about everywhere by train.
