Sounds like phlegm/mucus stuck on her throat, she literally choked a few seconds before, she is almost always on allergy medicine(sinusitis) and is always consuming throat drops, and also suffers from acid reflux. Minecraft as a game has been boring for a long time now, there is only so much you can do in it to keep things interesting. And I'm not going to say that she feels the same but I do thank her for cutting down on Minecraft a lot in favour of more diverse streams. I still don't really find Minecraft boring to watch but it's no surprise Pekora got burned out on it. She played constantly from like September through December, activity on the server peaked around the Undokai then started tapering off, and after that the server updated and broke half her stuff. So now she's in a state where she has a few projects she can work on, but they mostly all involve rebuilding farms she made before and those farms would be servicing a server that's a lot less active than when she built them in the first place. Minecraft will be back in style eventually but not for a while. Either the cave update will bring people back for a bit or the next Undokai if they're really doing it yearly. But even if the cave update revives it there's only so much an update can add to a server as built up as the holoserver before they run out of stuff to do.

It sucks because Minecraft is kind of the perfect game for those types of mini zatsudan streams. Zero story to get in the way, simple gameplay, there's always a chance for random holo interactions to happen, and it lets them be creative.

It's annoying at times but as someone who already doesn't get to watch nearly as much of the other holos as they'd like, it's nice to look at 50 Undertale streams and tell myself "I probably wouldn't have watched those anyway". Performance is cheaper per year, quantum computers are inevitable and offer qualitative leap in said performance (when adapted to classical IT tasks).

If you actually knew the difference between traditional Machine Learning approach which is 50+ years old and modern neural network specific AI (like YouTube algorythms), you'd understand that Machine Learning was actually limited by cost of performance for the longest time and this is rapidly changing.

Basically the time will come when you won't need a sophisticated neural network, finely tuned to your specific task. With big, powerful and cheap enough computing power you can feed giant massive of Big Data (translation pairs) to a less sophisticated system and get satisfying results.

Language barrier IS going to be sold by purely throwing computing power at it.

It won't matter. If that subtle context is going to be regularly missing from translation pairs across large enough dataset, it will be accounted for.

Neural networks are tuned to solve specific tasks after their input is tuned to correlate to real confirmed data (either by operator or by another already tuned AI)

Machine Learning is sticking large enough dataset with 2+2=4s that it would recognize commonalities and start applying them on demand to newly submitted data. The issue here is only the size of dataset and speed of the system, both are being rapidly solved by modern IT.

The difference, as you said before, is that Neural Networks (at least their current form) cannot be generalized enough to solve translation of context-based languages like Japanese accurately enough because it'd be inconceivably hard to tune one big and sophisticated enough to work properly.

Machine Learning doesn't care: you stick dataset big enough into it and make it work reasonably fast with it - it's going to produce good results.
