Engineer's Report 7.2 - We have finally been able to translate the data we downloaded from the alien pod. It was launched from some kind of alien exploration vessel called the Naggarok. Telemetry data indicates the Naggarok came from outside the galaxy nearly a million years ago. It was using an experimental hyperspace drive of immense power.

We are not clear on this next section, but the visual data seems to be showing that the alien ship was traveling otherwise uneventfully, when it started to have a flurry of biohazard signals that began raging across its habitation decks, not unlike what we experienced with the Promise. This seems to have been the organism we know as Fubuki. The alien explorers realized almost immediately the nature of the creature and its potential for destruction if it was let loose. They tried to trap it aboard their own ship by destroying the engines and communications equipment. For all we know, the original Fubuki is still out there somewhere. Trapped in the Naggarok.

Unfortunately for us, the sacrifice of the alien explorers was undermined by their own skill at ship design. As the drives were scuttled, the ship activated a distress call routine that automatically ejected a beacon pod. A pod that contained a tiny portion of Fubuki...

We do not have access to anything resembling crew logs, so precisely piecing together what lead up to the events onboard the Naggarok has been difficult. But we do have logs of the Naggarok's sensory equipment prior to its last moments as a functioning vessel. No external hull breaches were detected onboard like they were with the Promise and our other spacecraft that have been compromised by...the entity. We also have not been able to find anything resembling our own incident with the alien distress beacon, though any data that could shed light on that is likely still trapped on the ship itself. Whatever it was may have come from inside the ship.

At this point in time, the surviving members of the Engineering Department would like to report a startling discovery upon reviewing prior logs by the former Chief Engineer: 'Fubuki' does not translate to any known word in our language, or any known extent language in galactic vogue within at least the last twelve thousand years...nor in the data retreived from the beacon. This information has been passed on to the Chief Security Officer.

There's a sex scene in this chapter and I'd like to know if it was too brief. There will be more as this will be reoccurring character but I am trying to figure out a good length for how the sex scenes should play out. I want to keep it in line with how good things are fleeting but I also don't want it to be so fleeting you don't enjoy it. Anyway, enjoy.

I'm used to writing rape and uncomfortable kinds of sex so this is just like... weird to me. I have been reading some other stories to get a feel for how other authors handle it but for whatever reason it isn't quite translating to me. I just find there isn't much to really like... say.

Everyone starts somewhere, and different types of sex come easier to others. I think it might help you to think about how you can apply aspects of your strengths to a different tone and situation, and then it might translate to you a little more.

Taking rape for instance, the core of which lies in a power dynamic. The rapist is exercising their power over the situation and individual to get what the release they want, and this ranges from just getting off themselves in conjuncture with the powertrip involved, or winning a mental battle of sorts over their victim. Tender and consensual intimacy can also have a clear power dynamic to them, but without the feeling of danger. One side always taking the lead, doing the work, etc. I think you can translate that into something more tender in your own works. Let a character want it rough from their partner, have them voice it, and let the top in the situation be all too eager to deliver. Partners communicating their wants is its own level of tenderness.

You can also try to think about it from another angle you are more familiar with in terms of abuse. An action such as trailing a hand down someone's inner thigh can be used in such context to show possessiveness as well as breaching a boundary that should not have been crossed, it can also showing love and intimacy when put in the middle of a flirtatious conversation. Is some of this powering on any lights?

For the purposes of a story like this, you want someone who has a proclivity to lewdness but has enough of a screw-on to know it is taboo.
