I liked the fact that the general timeline of shit was actually coherent through all the routes and endings in the first game. One route you end up catching the killer (It's So Sejima!!! Except it isn't, it's Saito in So's body at the time) and that matches up with the timeline of him having swapped to So by that point. So you technically DO catch the killer, even if he's not in his actual body like it is at the end of the game The second game really struggles to make it coherent, that it's hard to guess (and not in a good way) what's going to happen next because it's just fucking retarded.

Like it doesn't help that they randomly decided to change the rules of psyncs from how it was in the first game so any instance of ANYONE ACTUALLY SEEING THE CULPRIT is just met with some retarded blue figure 24/7 even if they saw them face to face. The psyncs got worse, and the justifications for the psyncs being "lol let me see into your brain" with everyone just going "ok" with little to no resistance, and you literally never having a warrant for it is stupid.

Like the more I go through the game the more stupid fuck bullshit piles on that I actually just can't stomach how stupidly this shit is written. And I know I haven't even hit the main twist and that's probably going to piss me off too. They put little thought into the actual mystery and the actual killings and it just seems like a platform for them to talk about all this philosophical mumbo jumbo just to fucking sound smart. And while that occurred in the first game it was far, far, FAR less than this.

The thing with (4) is, people tend to dislike when there's too much of it but it's by far the most lucrative income source. If you're a corpo vtuber, there's a great deal of insurance against that dislike because people don't leave the ecosystem easily. If you're an indie and start spamming too much sponsor streams etc., those who leave are leaving for good.
Merch is another thing that's pretty widely misunderstood here. The cuts going to the corpo pay for the initial capital expenditures needed to launch merch. It's almost pure economies of scale. Cover works directly with big factories in China, and the prime cost is way lower. Orders that indies can reasonably make are essentially bespoke products and the factories will crank the per unit price up like crazy. To add, corpo merch is well insulated from demand risks.
