Minecraft was the glue holding Hololive together.

Talents are enjoying it though everytime they play holoEarth, I see that as a huge win.

of course they do what other emotion could they show while playing it

Cover is burning a huge pile of money to develop HoloEarth. They are hiring dozens of employees to work on that MMO which is only getting more bloated. Hololive talents are required to hype up that game in the same way their contract requires them to shill acrylic merch.

i love Holo as much as the next guy but that's like saying "wow! these gamestop employees are so nice! and they recommend all of the gamestop-brand products! they must love working here if they have brand loyalty!"
they might actually be enjoying it but definitely less than what they're projecting. in a similar vein, i dont even think they're allowed to speak outright negatively on a third-party game so they don't fall out of good graces of the company for future perms

I haven't heard a single Holo actually hype it up wtf are you talking about

They still interact a lot, it's just all offline. But it definitely feels more isolated.

Huh? It's not like they don't have access to Minecraft anymore

>> No.92474059

early holo en was defined by minecraft. there was something magical about seeing them all interact and build things together and watching the server grow organically. then management changes, the company focus shifted away from streaming and the magic died. i just wish it could have continued on to advent and justice, the kino would have been incredible. i know raora was interested in getting into minecraft but the point is that it was a collaborative effort by talents who would have otherwise *never* interacted outside of special events. feels like we're never getting that back.

>but holo earth
i want to give it a chance but from what i've seen it seems completely soulless, just a company-branded ark or rust clone. group collabs would just feel forced at this point.

>good graces of the company for future perms
NTA, but they are correct. They aren’t allowed to be too critical of games they play because some publishers/devs are known for pulling perms or striking channels that say mean things about their games.

That's what happened with several JP gens over many years and they did make two entire servers worth of kino, including the builds, the interactions, Pekora's shenanigans, and all of that.

still no idea what is it supposed to be
the idea of cover developing games makes sense - they are a tech company and they have free advertisement through streaming, but holoearth just looks like the sloppiest slop to ever slop, and I don't think even they know what is it supposed to be

>> No.92478838

unless something like neighbor wars or a building competition like Subaru & Haachama happens, the MC autists practically automated everything to the point that there is literally nothing else to do except make stupidly large builds.

Minecraft has and always will be Hololive’s worst and most boring content. 10 hours of streams for maybe 30 minutes of kino.

Sandbox games reflect the talent. If the stream is boring, it's because your oshi is boring.

Early Minecraft felt like an adventure with Myth. They were new. A lot of us were new. A strange Japanese darkness surrounded the land as English speakers with their flashlight explored it and had fun along the way.
In retrospect it was a great entry point. Nowadays they just expect you to know everything.

I can't watch minecraft streams anymore I auto check out. It was cool and novel in the early days than it just became a replacement for perm autism because the girls couldn't play the games they wanted.

Back shortly before Aqua grad she did a stream looking back on the minecraft servers and it was crazy being all like "wow this is so old, so nostalgic!" and then she went back through the portal to the even older server and you really realize just how ancient some of those builds are, entire area just totally packed with things you remember them building years and years ago.

taken as an overall thing, hololive minecraft was definitely their best streaming content
