Not sure if I can help but here it goes: It works that much I can say. If you want anything more critical then I would say that this particular set feels like made of two different prompts battling one against the other for control: The one that puts the girl in a Pool against the one that puts the girl in a Hallway-with-water.

No complaining tho. Seeing the AI either "pick a side" or a gradient in-between them and then giving out these surreal pics is always nice to see. So I really can tell you if I have a main preference with what the model does at the moment other than giving more preference to the "Hallways-with-water" would be more in-line with the reqested Poolrooms.

Speaking of which, Are the Poolrooms themselves still out of reach/too hard to pull off for the current models? I have no problem with what has been delivered (quite the contrary, always like these Liminal takes regardless) but still curious about it.

The problem is that for the latest models, there hasnt been anyone really creating these loras for the generation of poolrooms/liminal spaces. If you want a flooded hallway with water, I can do that no problem. But if you specifically wanted a poolroom type architecture like what you see in your picture, I dont have the means to do it easily

Happy holidays /vtai/, missed a few threads.
Been getting back into drawing, which took up a lot of my time, meaning progress on the LHC dataset has also slowed down considerably. Managed to do a few chuubas though and also redid part of flow glow already since their datasets were quite bad since I did them back at debut.
However since I barely gen atm, I'm reconsidering whether I can't bake earlier than 200, since the reason I wanted to wait was so that I can also spend time genning when I want to.
Especially since vpred 1.0 seems pretty good from my tests and what I saw when skimming the threads I missed. I compared it with the other vpred versions, and for me it wins on average

Any tips of things to try out if I want to vary it up a little? Different settings, different models or versions of NoobAI, etc?

I think scheduling is mostly fine as long as it's not AYS which I think is meh with vpred (works great with eps). I would try the latest version of vpred, to me definitely feels like a step up.

Sorry for the rant, I am very passionate about inpainting.

Some theory required, I'll write a proper guide one day (I've been saying this for about 2 years now).
Inpainting is just rolling an image again, let's assume it's unconstrained and you generate a totally different image each time, that's no use.
To constrain the result and get it to fit your original image, you can do a few things:
Partial denoise, instead of 1.0, you go for around 0.4-0.6 denoise.
Sketching: If we assume that inpainting is like staring at a blurry image and sharpening it, then far more effectively, you can guide the denoising process by just doing a crude sketch of a feature (for example a condom in a strap, strands of juices).

Okay, that gets you 90% of the way there, you roughly draw some feature, low-mid denoise (0.4-0.6), inpaint Only Masked, Mask Blur ~20, 1024x1024 inpaint area with say, 60-120 padding, simples.

How do you stack or control structural features (tally marks, text)? ControlNet, naturally. You can see in that PSD these black n white layer combos where there is a layer of white then say, tally mark shapes or text in pure black. These are fed into ControlNet Canny to force the shape of the text or tally marks, allowing a load of white streaks (juices) on top without losing the shape during denoise. In other words: when you need to draw over a feature but want to force its shape, ControlNet.
This can be exploited to do all kinds of things like tattoos, squirting, controlling body squish shapes and more, if you're not ControlNet you're massively missing out.

Different way noise are calculated, in theory allows for more accurate colors and does contrast better than the eps models which kinda averages the colors, it also a bit better at following prompts

eps added the dudes in the back because of the that averaging effect (as far as I understand). That being said vpred is not a 100% upgrade from the eps, this effect eps has is actually pretty good for getting details in gen for stuff like backgrounds where in vpred you would have to meticulously prompt for it. So no wrong answer in using either imo.

This is a secondary image/map you feed in during generation (txt2img or img2img) to constrain the output. for example forcing a particular shape, normal maps, depth maps, etc. You specify the nature of control (in this case, Canny/outline), strength, resolution, etc. Sane defaults are: Upload independent image (ie: our black n white image), Pixel Perfect (enables resolution equivalent to input), Canny, 0.6 strength.
noobaixl canny controlnet is available on civit and elsewhere, IIRC you can quant it down to FP16 to half the filesize from 4+GB -> 2.4 ish

I honestly think it's probably more than you would expect. Nowhere close to a majority, but a significant portion I'd wager.
I mostly think that, because I think a lot of people will have gone a similar path as I have:
>Interested in drawing
>suck
>try on and off for years and never really improve
>try out this new ai thing
>can finally get some of the stuff you want to make and actually have it look pleasing
>grow your creative drive
>get more and more frustrated at obvious mistakes
>start fixing stuff manually/pre-composing images to get what you want
>have ideas/want to gen stuff that is either impossible or extremely limited(like very small indie vtubers or other niche topics that don't have a lot of art already)
>realize that AI will never be able to actually fully capture what you have in mind/and or want to make something that you can say is fully your own
>get back into drawing because your desire to actualize your ideas has grown from a spark to an actual flaming need (and realize that critiquing your gens has at least marginally improved your knowledge of anatomy and such so you actually start to improve a bit)
Obviously this depends on why you are using AI. If it's just to look at nice images(nothing wrong with that), you might not end up going for drawing, but there will be some that through AI have either discovered or grown their want to do art.
There are also some that come at it already actively drawing before AI cause it can have it's uses as inspiration and such, or they just think the technology is neat, but I think most probably wouldn't really admit to it publicly, especially in art circles, though there have been some high profile artists that do play with it or outright integrate it into their worklows (ceo of shiftup comes to mind as well as some twitter/pixiv artists).

Definitely. See my reply above for more detail, but it's just a really good feeling to actually fully be in control. I think that's also why my motivation to gen has fallen a lot recently since I have actually started drawing some stuff that, while still far from where I would like to be, I actually think is kind starting to look ok. I do still have an interest in the technical side and I love seeing what all the anons here are genning, so I still have a reason to work on LHC and check in here from time to time (thankfully).

approximate sketch in top right + controlnet canny (overlaid on top, you'd wanna save that out separately for controlnet, coloured sketch into inpaint, line map for cnet) to fix some details (puffy fur trim, grey edge trim) @ 0.6
inpaint masked only that area with prompt "1girl, koseki bijou, lying, on couch, gradient hair, detached sleeves, fur trim, striped"

I'm glad the wonky diagrams stuck around, I wasn't sure if they communicated the idea properly.
Artists are just activations across an already established feature space. If you train on 10k images, you're gonna learn features, distributed across tags ideally. Artists serve as buckets of said features, from eye shape, proportions, shading, etc.
When you treat them as these feature buckets, it becomes easier to conceptualise how they would blend together, at least that's how it makes sense to me.

I don't really have a main artist mix because I love switching styles too much but yeah basically. Grabbing style mixes from other people, doing X/Y plots with artists on Danbooru who's style catches my eye to see how well they're represented and using https://danbooru.donmai.us/related_tag when I want a style that might be good at doing a specific tag.
This artist mix is very simple, I just thought of two artists that I thought looked kind of similar, two other artists that I thought seemed kind of similar and mashed them together. I also have a couple of artists that I tend to use in my mixes; this mix has two of these reoccurring artists.

What the other anon said is also a very good way to think about it: find artists that have attributes that you like: eyes, body shape, shading, textures, colours, lighting, etc

As other Anons mentioned, start with your favourite artists / attributes you like - if you love thicc muscle girls don't use the more loli-type artists, obviously.

It was more trial and error for me, as well as stealing taking inspiration from others. When I started, I wanted my gens to look like Yomu (face, feet/legs) and Laserflip (mainly genitals kek), so I started with those two. Then I just adjusted from there. It's a lot easier now, but I remember trying out 6 Laserflip Pony LoRAs.

The newer Noob merges out there have some baseline style mixed in now, so just be mindful of that.
