It happens because pages like this allow people to sub to multiple channels in the span of seconds. Youtube thinks they are bots and removes them. Multiple agencies have reported losing subs and they all have had places where the whole generation could be subbed altogether.

HoloEN 1 is undeniably the most successful generation of vtubers, period.
That being said, that was back during the big lockdown vtuber boom. The moment has passed. Vtubers are still popular but a lot of people got bored and left the fandom. HoloEN gen 2 numbers reflect that.
HoloEN 2's numbers should be higher than they are rn, but they would have never matched 1 even without YT shenanigans.
