Jokes on you, I actually got into it because I fostered an interest in trance hypnosis for a few years before I discovered it. The best videos are the ones which cause the shivers. Adding on this, it is a very distinctly physical sensation and I think you almost always know that you can have them if you can remember them from you childhood. I can think of is when I was in second or third grade and one of my school mates started drawing letters on my back. One problem is that a lot of people have a very narrow view of what ASMR actually is. With VTubers, it's nearly exclusively just whispering or soft talking.
There's a vast array of ASMR out there; object scratching, abstract mouth sounds, etc. and not just the whispering that's usually done in the context of VTubers, since they typically don't have access to visuals to go along with the audio.
If you're asking about VTubers specifically (appropriately enough for this board), I'd say just try different VTubers, not just holos.
If you're willing to try real Tubers though, there's an incredibly variety out there for you. Find out what kinds of "triggers" (tapping, scratching, wet sounds, dry sounds, etc.) work best for you specifically, there's so much more than just whispering.

Ear massage is the only good ASMR. And ear blowing moderately.

Patra's the best Japanese vtuber who does ASMR and it isn't even close. Every now and then Mary does an incredible stream but most of the time there aren't triggers or they are a bit too subtle. It's fine because it's a pleasure to simply hear her talk. Mico could do incredible ASMR scenarios if she felt like it, that twin ASMR stream with Patra was deadly. Honourable mentions go to Siyo, Tamako and that fox one that looks like a Digimon.

I bought a used pair from amazon for like $50 and it really nails that 'texture' in voices/effects as well as the whole headspace thing.
