Okay, so, I made a mistake yesterday abandoning my hierarchical state machine for a traditional one, and, like a pathetic moron, had to come crawling back to it. Traditional state machines just aren't flexible enough to achieve what I want. I gave up on making the state logic resources unique and decided to shunt the required variables to the Character3D nodes, which, in hindsight, I should have just done from the get-go, since it makes the exportable to game development and unique in the first place. The issue is it pretty much locks them in, and I need a variety of member variants for DIFFERENT types of characters with wholly different mechanisms and behaviors. (I'll need to research this more.) With careful management, I can do so, but I want the system to be robust, because I'll be going solo and won't have much time to spare on tweaking it. (That's also why I'm being so anal about refactoring of the low-level systems NOW so I can avoid being trapped by lava flow and spaghetti code.)
It's still entirely possible to make resources unique, it's just a pain, so I don't really lose anything, but I do gain some annoyance.

I still need to add a few parts to the StateNode class, which allows for forcible changing of states, and management of nested behavior. As is, it runs AUTOMATICALLY, as each StateLogic resource defines its own conditions for becoming active (meaning I can drag-and-drop, and I don't have to re-code previous states to make them work together). This will go a very long way in making highly complex systems of action (as my goal is to have few character but very detailed behavior).
