Twice. First one was as a kid before I had even heard of sleep paralyses. I had a nightmare I got in a fight at school and after fighting off my the assailant in front of me, someone stronger than me came from behind, smashed my face into the ground and started strangling me. Turned out my parents hadn't left the window open, but interestingly years later I ran across some text explaining that old Norse/Anglo-Saxons/whatever believed that sleep paralysis was a spell or a demon and you could free yourself of it by concentrating on moving the toes of your left foot.

The second time was as an adult and again I was sleeping face to the pillow, so I couldn't see anything. This time I had had a happy dream of winning in a lottery. As I had both experience and read about sleep paralysis, I realized what was happening almost immediately, and patiently just waited out while feeling like choking on the pillow as I was unable to get a feeling on any part of my body.
