Probably University Freshman level in most things. Changed majors so I dropped out of an Optics class that I no longer needed. I regret it now because it was really interesting. Additionally, about a decade ago I did some work with the mathematics of computer graphics which, while not physics directly, is adjacent to a lot of the physics of light.

This ended up being my first time watching this film and I wanna take some potshots. The initial bits up until they leave the first planet is scientifically sound and impressively so, but the second planet is marred down by petty human drama together with the fact that the spaceship couldn't possibly be equipped to make that first and second excursion given the tech level. The black hole bit feels entirely speculative in a wish fulfilment way, and the whole film feels like a glorified, Oscar baiting episode of Star Trek with bad audio mixing. I feel like they read one chapter of a physics textbook labelled "The Twins Paradox" and made a soap opera out of it.

That said, the ending made me cry so BRAVO NOLAN I guess.

Shame Gradius V hasn't been remastered for re-release because that was made by Treasure. Its the best in the series. Though I think Sana will have more fun with exploration platformers like Super Metroid and Blaster Master Zero. If she can get ahold of Metroid Prime Trilogy then Sana could have fun with that. Though it seems the Wii Remote craps out on her set-up.
