After I was absent for almost the entire day while watching Myth's debuts, I had a serious conversation with my girlfriend were I told her about vtubers and that they were really important to me and that they made me feel very happy. I introduced her to some and she ended up loving the concept and adoring the Hololive cast, especially Korone. Since then, she's been happy to share the hobby with me: we sometimes watch streams together (especially watchalongs), she sends me Hololive art everyday, things like that. She has even cosplayed as my oshi and other Holos before sex, so I'm definitely winning.
My advice to anons already in a relationship is, be honest, if your girl can respect your hobby, no matter how weird or pathetic it may be, then she's worth keeping. I’ve asked this before anon, you’re not going to get a good answer here, simply because 95% of anons that frequent this board have never had a girlfriend. I also struggle to fit watching chuubas into my life now that I’m living with my gf, the only compromise I’ve been able to find is watching streams with only one earbud in so that I can still talk to my gf and give her attention while watching my oshi.
Sometimes I have to settle for leaving a muted stream on in the background while doing something with my gf, which scratches the itch to a certain extent, but it’s obviously not the same. You don’t know how many times I’ve coomed inside my gf while a muted Ame stream is on in the background.
You can do your VOD reps at night when she’s asleep, however the problem with that is that it doesn’t feel the same as watching live. One other thing you can do is find a chuuba that streams consistently when you have free time (as in, alone time) and watch her more often. For example, I can usually catch Gura’s streams live because she streams at a time when my gf is busy with her hobby.
To all the fags who complain about not having a gf, remember that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. A gf seriously affects your ability to watch chuubas, even if she likes or tolerates them. My gf likes them, but I can guarantee you she wouldn’t be okay with me spending 3 hours watching a full stream.
