yeah, I would use the same artist LoRAs, pos/neg tag I use i pony in Illust (though this time i forgot artist LoRAs). Gen a bunch of low res, pick out the good ones, switch to pony, and png info -> img2img upscale and only replace the character name with the pony character LoRA + character tags. Denoise at 0.5.
The upscaling with my pony model and artist mix seems to do a pretty good job and turning the bright and fried Illust output into my pony style.

In any case, finally took your method for a spin in the above set, produces some pretty nice results! My pony mixes sort of work in Illustrious too (RIP time spent finding an artist mix). Quite interested to see how it looks if I use an Illustrious artist mix for base gen, but with a Pony mix when upscaling - wonder how it will blend.

My workflow is
>1. gen large batches at lowres and then cherry pick any good ones
>2. Take the good ones to PNG Info -> img2img upscale 1.5x, denoise, adetailer. Maybe change some LoRA weights if it looks fried.
>3. Press enqueue with the Agent Scheduler extension
>4. Repeat to step 1 with like the 10+ images I cherry picked and go have a snack.

I do it this way over hires fix + refiner on a pony model because I don't want to upscale every gen in a batch of like 3x10 if half or more are gonna be duds it would be a massive waste of time. Better to cherry pick 10 out of a batch of 60 or something and spend 5 mins manually queuing them.

The reason I keep pony artist LoRA and pos/neg tags when I gen on Illustrious is just logistics, when I PNG Info -> Img2img it copies all tags used, if I had Illustrious tags I'll need to replace it's pos/neg, artist with my pony one for each image I plan to upscale, that is lot of clicking and copy and pasting. If I already have pony tags I just need to replace 1 things, character tags.

Okay so after my latest lora test, 103 videos from a single anime, I feel like the style is closer, but didn't quite reach the point I needed, increasing the strength seems to help so leads me to think I need more data on characters/steps. Thinking about it more, I kinda want to try a character lora... I was thinking about scraping any 3d streams bae has and using those as my dataset, sounds like a night of captioning and splitting videos again (I am of a rational mind and not slipping into madness)
