I wouldn't ask if I hadn't already come to my own conclusions through my own educated efforts. I've already invested time looking into it, and that's why I think it's shit. Inconsistent nonsense where the voiceover, visuals, and character design are all at odds with each other.
That's the fundamental difference. Other systems people try to compare/connect EN2 lore to are consistent, or at least consistent in their inconsistencies and ambiguities (and generally makes use of them as additional devices, instead of brushing them aside as mistakes). EN2 lore does not give a fuck and flips the script more times than I can count, but does so to no useful ends, it just appears to be the side effect of garbage writing (though it could be argued this was the goal).
The messaging is inconsistent and that's why I think everyone I ask dodges the simple question: they can't make heads or tails of it. Surely if you could, you would have just told me, right?
