I never got to know Ame like you guys did because I didn't bother with vtubers during the pandemic. I had a bias because I hated twitch and twitch streamers and the only times I took a look were the Kizuna Ai saying fuck you for the first time clip and one of Gura's earliest streams playing subnautica or some other underwater game and after getting bored I closed the stream and fucked off since I didn't have a real understanding of vtubers as corpo streamers. I stayed out until Fauna's Euro Trucker stream and even after that it took a while for me to understand how Hololive worked and to bother showing up to /vt/ & watch other Holos. I didn't watch any of Myth in their prime but from what I saw I liked Ame the most. I don't speak Japanese so all the JP departures were just news headlines to me and since I came in late I missed the entirety of Sana so that was just a historical event that I was aware of but didn't live through. But having the time between Ame's announcement and her finale being so short just makes it hard to process it all and that I procrastinated too long to go back and look at Myth and Ame in particular. I felt awful watching her last stream but then I felt like I didn't deserve to since the stream wasn't really for me because of how little I watched her.

I don't think it'd be a bother in any event. She's doing what she needs to for closure and I think you should do what you need to for closure. (And for what it's worth I don't think her achieving closure means that letter never gets read. Even if people move on from Ame some of them will still revisit VODs, draw new fan art, etc. Maybe she doesn't read it immediately, but I believe she will one day.)
