3am does have an active LLC, but that doesn't mean a whole lot since indies make LLCs for their brand anyways for tax and personal safety reasons (shylily, nyanners and Saruei being examples). Now the biggest indicator that 3am isn't a corpo-corpo is the fact they seem to be funded mostly through a patreon that's fan supported. Pretty much no corpo funds itself through patreon.

Since this is coming up here, /lig/ had a guy dig into the LLC back in march and come to the conclusion the LLC is probably owned by the girls themselves, which is what VICHIBAN does as well. As a side note this post was about a month or so before someone in /lig/ sniffed out MSM not having an active LLC and the owner's legal problems. I've always suspected it being the same dude.

In all artistic media where corpos touch, the primary deciding factor between "Independent Artist" and "Corporate Artist" is "Who owns the rights".
If you own everything you create, then you're an indie. You could have a team on payroll that operates as a company, but if you can walk out on them with little to no risk to your own IP, so long as you settled obligations, you're indie.
If somebody else owns everything you do, and you're just a talent bringing the art to life, you're corpo.

Everyone in vshojo owns their own IP and could reasonably leave at any time. We've seen this happen multiple times. They were, and are, indies with a company as a support structure.
Yuri didn't walk out of Phase Connect with her IP, despite walking in with it. She was corpo.
>What about the ones leaving Idol? Don't they technically own their IP?
Talents like Rin are in a weird in-between state where they have a stake in their IP, but don't completely own it until November 2025. However, I believe this is an exception that helps to prove the rule: The thing in contention between the talent being fully independent, and the company having say over the talent, is the IP itself. Another interesting related piece of information is that there were legitimate concerns over whether GIN Penrose, the character played by Rin's IRL mother, was considered part and parcel with the Rin Penrose IP, or if Brave could pull a fast one. Idol clarified to Rin later that they considered the two bundled, but the fact that it was a question at all should help draw the lines a bit clearer.

I agree with your definition, but come to a different conclusion because a different understanding of the term "work for". For indies (like Bao &c.) who have an LLC, they're not "work[ing] for" the company; the company "work[s] for" them (by providing liability insurance and tax benefits). The same can be said of indie coalitions like 3am.

Vladivostok Anon here, feeling better but let's focus on today's report!

ANYCOLOR STUMBLES
Despite Anycolor's best efforts, they fall short of the line as they close out at 2486 yen (-19) for their Tuesday price. Going by the minute, Anycolor recovered well to get back to barely in the green. but failed to hold on to their gains as they slowly slumped to just below the line shortly after lunch. They now look at a 72 yen loss for the week overall, but looking at the last 2 weeks I would not be surprised to see a rise.

COVER DOES NOTHING
Cover is on the fence in results today, as they manage to stay at 1800 (0) to close out the day. This comes after managing to stay in the green after lunch despite their rough start earlier today. Still, they're deeper in the red compared to their competitor as they still hold Monday's 82 yen loss for the week overall.

Furthermore, today is the first day of Cover's Q3 has Q2 has now ended.

OTHER
The NIKKEI manages to rebound slightly from yesterday's fall. Clocking in at a 1.93% gain for the day.
Trading Volumes to do detective work with.

Both of them are corpos by definition, they both call themselves a "talent agency" now.
Coqui once called 3AM an "indie coalition" so it got stuck and that's why I didn't even bother to change it in the OP. But since then, it grew from a coalition into an established group.

>>86513065
People really tend to think Geega is always right, and she likes to babble like she's the biggest pro in the "industry". But she gets quiet really fast and try to hide as much as possible about her failures and bad choices.
>>86517335
I don't like how management weighted in, but the fact she could even say it was a request from them just shows that she may have had a choice, and that they don't have full control on her.
VShojo JP talents might also have rules in their contracts regarding social media, due to the regular and generalized harassment ("slanders") Twitter users have there.

I didn't know that, actually.
I started calling them an "indie coalition" because I needed an abridged way to refer to them, and that's what they are: a coalition of indies.
Only reason vShojo doesn't get the same treatment in round-ups is because they have their own section.

There's also stuff like Reincarnations to consider. While /vt/ is usually pretty good at tracking down talents' histories once they show up in a corpo, a small indie reincarnating as another small indie can be much harder to track look no further for proof of that than the ongoing saga of Mel Nekomata.

I think you've misunderstood what I'm saying - I don't think she misunderstood what the manager said to her, I think her lack of knowledge about the English language resulted in her using the wrong word to covey her meaning across. She would also sometimes mistranslate the meaning of sentences.

>> No.86538784

>>86534406
>>86537231
I think there are two important things in her statement: that a "manager" did it, and that she was "told" to do it. The fact of the manager is very important. If VShojo was really just an indie coalition with some extra people hired on to deal with merch, sponsorships, events, &c., then there would be no need for middle-level managers. Presumably, the request came in from Froot since Froot wanted solely positive coverage of her ... poor choice in releasing that document. If VShojo was an indie coalition, Froot would have had to have told Kson that herself; but Froot took advantage of VShojo's real, corporate structure, and got a manager to tell Kson to delete the post. This manager-with-power-over-talents structure is a key feature of true corpos (Holo/Niji) and is a strong indicator here. The second thing is that she was "told" to act. Now, even assuming a poor grasp of the English language, the word "told" is broad enough to cover a range of power differentials. A subordinate can "tell" a boss that some work needs to be done, a co-worker can "tell" another what work has been done (and thus, by implication, what remains for the other), and of course a boss can "tell" (direct) a subordinate to act. There are, of course, other situations where one might "tell" another to do something--such as in an advising role--but there is no clear implication, either of the power to force action or of the lack of that power, from just the word "tell". The fact this manager was able to "tell" Kson to do something indicates that he had a role between an advisor and a superior--we can only speculate as to the details. But the presence of some non-VTuber with the power to "tell" a VTuber how to act is another tell of corpo structure, in contradistinction to an indie coalition. I think a number of anons are misled by the origins of VShojo (and statements made in the past); while it may have begun as a formal indie coalition with some light corporate structure, now the corpo-ness has grown such that the corpo has the power to influence the talents, and not the other way around. I don't think this will do much for the "talent freedom" brand, though,--even though they are rather more limited than that moniker would imply--as the VShojo girls who haven't left all think more or less along the same lines. There's a reason they've joined the company and not subsequently left it, after all.

During the final stretch of Subtember (a site-wide event with various discounts and bonuses on subs), Twitch gave 1 additional sub for every 5 subs gifted, with a chance for a random amount added on top. It discredits the Twitch subs part I mentioned, but it DOESN'T discredit the obvious proxies and the 92% worth of unnatural subs and numbers overall. 30k people, majority most likely not real users which means sub 30k-20k, are making Mousey look 11-15x times bigger than she is.
Point still stands, Mousey is NOT as big as she appears to be. And again... GunRun and Twitch... And VShojo... Something isn't right.
Look, Mousey doesn't look like a bad person so I still have a faint hope someone will sweep right in later and discredit all of my claims with some harder evidence, because if not, that means...
It also means she's willingly letting herself be the sacrificial lamb for something that is clearly not well intentioned in the end.
Some Autistic Dragoon come in and tell me Doki ain't doing this fuckery.
I'm thinking of cross-referencing numbers of other allegedly big chuubas, ther e might be MORE of these sub anomalies and no one has really bothered to point it out.
Also, Zentreya's subs are in a similar position:
6773 subs and 4327 are gifted subs so:
(4327 / 6773) * 100 ≈ 63.94%
Nearly 64% of Zen's subs are gifted, which means Zen's only has 2446 actual subs. Which means that yet again, there's an absurd level of "wealthy" there ramping up the numbers in less than 2.5k people.
I could do this math thing all day.

This is not a rare occurrence. In fact it's very very common for a Twitch streamer to have more gifted subs than "natural" subs. That's just how Twitch is.

You don't see this on YouTube because membership gifting is like six months old or some shit, there's no culture around it.
Gifting subs is several years older than bits, which means for a long time it was the primary means to send additional support to your streamer on-site. This developed a culture around gifting that keeps it the primary method despite bits technically giving the streamer a higher payout.

I wanna give Enna and the rest of the girls the benefit of the doubt, and say they are simply in denial that their company tried to cover up a suicide and then repeatedly attacked the victim. I also realize the brainwashing in this sort of cultish organization is strong, but part of me can't help but wonder if they fully realize it, and simply don't care.

As a Mating Press editorial once pointed out, evil is hot for a lot of folk, so maybe that very thought is what's keeping the remainder hanging on.

Given the breadcrumb trail and the historical pattern of previous streamer cliques of similar size and influence, there's a huge chance ironmouse and the vshojo clique really are huge sacks of shit with a ton of skeletons in their closets. Like I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it turned out that way, either.

However because the only people calling it out are schizo holotribals and /#/ pagpags that discredit themselves the second they open their mouths, there is zero chance anybody is ever going to actually pay attention to it, nevermind bring it to light with investigative journalism. Nice going, retards.

Other
>ChumuNote, a vtuber and writer for vtuber style in Japan, signs a management contract with Remedy & Company, a JP firm dedicated to health tech.

Corrections
>Previous reporting mistakenly referred to services provided by V-Square as "a supernatural digital playground". It is, unfortunately, a digital playground well-grounded in reality.
>Previous reporting mistakenly referred to the VGTC Continential Block as the "Continental Blooo". The editor apologizes for editing while half-asleep, and promises that if it happens again, it will be much funnier.
