So based on Ame's own comments and comments from her genmates and other people, I think I've developed a better understanding of Ame's hypothetical path moving forward. The new Ame will be an indie whose goal is to bridge the technological gap between indies and Holo/Niji by using her new 3D studio. This fits with her saviorfag personality, and why she's been so focused on developing her studio for the past few months.

Moreover, it's apparent that Ame's favorite time in her Holo career was in 2021-2022, where she had the most creative freedom. This is the era where she produced the 3D Myth anniversary, Smol Adventures, the Halloween collab and Kiara's 3D concert among others projects. The problem with modern hololive is that it has become too big, where too much red tape of Japanese perms autism interferes with her creativity. Not to mention the mountains Cover mandated meetings, traveling, and recordings that amount to mountains of homework that drags her down from what she really wants to do.

I've watched clips of many large indies/small corpo vtubers reacting to Ame's departure from Hololive not just with sadness, but oddly enough, excitement of what she's doing next and future opportunities. Ame likely has already been in contact with the usual suspects of Mint, Doki, and smaller lesser known vtubers to help produce upcoming 3D collab projects. Using this network and scouting prospective talents with her Holo affiliation, Ame's ultimate goal is to push up and coming vtuber talents into the limelight. And with Ame being a Holo affiliate, she's still permitted to interact with her Holo friends publicly as Amelia Watson, so she's getting the best of both worlds.

Also, I don't think money is that much of a concern for Ame being that her older brother has a Master's degree and can help financially support the Watson family.

tl;dr - Ame wants to be La Creatividad for the indie vtuber space

I'm really lookin forward to the streams she's got lined up for us, the endurance and charity streams are going to be kino, and getting to see her interact with so many other EN's is going to be great. It really is going to be the best week of stream we'll have had for a long long time. I just have keep blocking out what's coming at the end of it though,

Regarding the tl;dr. I agree. But I aksi wouldn't be surprised if she even just wanted to do it for herself. Because you hit the nail on the head with the 2021-2022 being when she was the most free. So to return to that in some capacity would probably be something she longs for again.

I do kind of hope she does end up being of help to the indie space. Mainly because after 4 years of watching her, I know for an absolute fact that she's at her strongest when others rely on her for something. All of her procrastination and self doubt melts away and she's switches to maximum focus, full brain power, Ame mode. And she genuinely loves helping out those that need it. So, purely to see her do well and for her not to lose steam again, I hope that is one of her goals going forward.

Early EN was the wild west, and modern day is the 1920s. It's not bad at all persay, but someone who a cowboy like Ame, it's just not the same place she was able to express herself. I love Hololive still but I think Ame knows what's best for herself.

She really was and has been a pioneer of pushing new things in not only hololive, but vtubing in general. She just has the spark of creativity. Those early homemade 3D streams were some of my favorites, probably more than her official 3D streams. The buffson cooking stream, Armando karaoke, all pure kino. The one I remember the most was the fake tech presentation she did in 3D, where bubba kept fucking up the camera angles and she'd just break down laughing of how scuffed it all was. Aqua's graduation situation was the moment Ame's activity after 2022 finally clicked. A lot of what Aqua talked about with how small Hololive used to be felt eerily similar to Ame's experiences. Filian mainly uses her 3D as padding for zoomer attention spans, not really as an experimental medium. While I respect her she doesn't really go much further than using it as her basic stream setup. She's not much different from just having a regular vtuber setup, she just stands up while doing it.

Ame's uniqueness comes from the fact that she experiments with doing stuff specifically on stream, like messing around with chat, messing around with 3D assets to create unique experiences, messing around with models and appearances to appear differently. The most I've seen Filian do to that effect is LARP as Astolfo.
