Just like with any addiction, the reason it is an addiction is because it's no longer a choice to use the substance/process. The reason that happens is because it has become a coping mechanism for numbing out unresolved emotional pain. Hence why the guy who said you need a specialist is kind of right most of the time - since long-term freedom from the coping mechanism (porn) requires healing the underlying emotional pain. Yes I work in this area.
