When Noel removed Rushia after a very long time, she didn't say anything negative about Rushia but just that it was time to move on. How Gens remember each other is a terrible metric, Mel is remembered by Gen 1 about the same as Aloe/Rushia in this example. They were basically sad that she got fired just as they were planning to debut as a real gen together after all these years of distance. No Gen 2 member gets remembered favorably by that metric either.

The fact of the matter that everyone can agree on is Rushia was only determined as unacceptable in retrospect. She used to be part of all these references and fanart. The problem this standard shows is that how you are treated as an alum is impacted by later Internet drama and anyone can lose their status if the drama becomes mainstream enough.

How mainstream the drama is, is actually very important in this case because while it's totally fair for an individual to discount Rushia based on later information, there are just as valid reasons people have discounted basically any other alum. The difference is those reasons never got blown up to such an extreme that the hivemind agreed on them and drowned out the devoted fans each individual has that are never going to be objective on these matters.
