Nah, the quality of live recordings is pretty subpar for a corpo such as Phase Connect, I can see people complaining even more if they had combined it with 3D and sold for $50. They probably thought so too so they went with the safest option of looking professional at the cost of no live audience

I thought Tenma actually did pretty well for not having much of a background on performances. Her song was a little slower and she did a good job with it. Pippa was so awkward it rolled over into the "so bad it's endearing" territory. I still haven't seen Uruka's part since I missed it live.

Meanwhile, Lia's had by far the biggest "actual idol dancing PV" energy, with her excellent dancing and song choice. And Mint excelled in the singing/stage presence and in involving the audience.

I won't lie, I'm not a huge fan of vtuber concerts as a concept, I'm the type that just wants to watch streams, and while the concert had some small issues, it was super fun to be there and it was infused with so much sovl from the "small company filled with blossoming talent finally getting a successful gig" angle.
That plus Mint getting to be a headliner with the biggest cheers even as an indie just fills the whole thing with energy and emotion that I'd never get from a holo concert. Even if they're more produced and technically impressive, It's basically a job requirement to be in them and they spend a lot of money to make them happen and a lot of time in corpo committee rooms and recitals to make sure everything goes silky smooth, so it's all pretty soulless and uninteresting to me.
But mostly I love this ghost and seeing her happy from achieving a major goal just makes me happy

I don't think it's so much an indie problem just the persona a lot of Hololive members choose to put on that's too strong.
Like I'd watch fwmc if they were maybe 20% of the way they are but I just can't stomach them for more than a few minutes at a time.
Some like Ina and Nerissa are more chill and don't go all out with their RP but there are a lot of Holos that do. I adore Luna since she's mellowed out but my fucking god back when she went full on baby mode she was unbearable.
