Vivi, an FGC fan, has done Sajam Slam before and wanted to do the SF6 one. The community was surprised about Selen's termination, but most of the fans understood that Selen broke company rules and that Nijisanji had the right to fire her if they wanted (not that they should have done it, but that's another discussion). The real origin of the outrage is the revelation that Selen tried to kill herself after being harassed.

From the organs POV, what happened was most likely something like this:

Considering you took the time to type this all out, I'm offering my appreciation for sharing your thoughts, anon. I like the read you've given on all of these as they fairly adjacent with my own opinions as well.

I do believe that they were also just inept at reading the situation as it was unfolding and were unable to keep pace with what was needed at the time. They chose to address "Selen broke the rules" but everyone was already on "SHE JUST TRIED TO KILL HERSELF WTF IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU" so their black stream was the worst play imaginable given the timing.

But I am also of the more disconnected opinion that if they really wanted to succeed in defending themselves, they needed to guarantee character assassination via showing receipts painting her negatively to the world. And I am of the belief that they can't have done it for the sole reason that

A. The receipts of her being an ass didn't exist
B. The receipts of her being an ass were too integrated with information they cannot share without violating contracts

And now the window for doing this is far, far too late. If they had something to share, they should have done it around black stream time. Now, no matter what they do or say, they'll also look like spiteful petty assholes (more than they already do). They've been cornered into a lose-lose situation.

In Vox's particular case, I don’t think he was trying to defend anyone but himself, but in doing so, he was also supporting the rest of the organs and the company itself.

Vox was terrified of what Selen might say about him, so he tried his best to portray her as a crazy woman.

Anon the harassment he was talking about was a very specific thing doki mentioned when she made those tweets. It wasn't some vague this or that organ did that. He may have felt towards or done whatever to selen but that wasn't being referenced in his dialogue.

It's still baffling that it got that bad in the first place.
You'd think something would've got fixed, supported, or shut down before someone tried to off themselves.
