Aqua was the largest Holo for a while precisely because she was so famous in China and she seemed fine with it, but after Cocogate she lost a large amount of her fanbase and income. If she went back they'd welcome her with open arms, so I'm not sure this is the actual reason.

If anyone can leave and be massively successful on their own it's Aqua. People are forgetting she's actually good at video games and her gameplay transcends the language barrier. Many people from different countries come to watch her play FPS or do whatever. She will be 30k+ every stream even after her buff wears off, and taking home more money.

I can't even imagine working evenings for 6 years straight. I would honestly go crazy unless I shifted the entire day to be awake at night after work, and sleep during the day, which would come with its own huge set of problems. Personally I can't really relax or enjoy anything if I know I have something to do or somewhere I need to be later that same day, and even if I could, I'd be constantly thinking about would this or that make good content or be something to talk about. I can totally understand if she'd want to live a different kind of life after so long, and maybe management didn't allow her to go the Gura route for some reason.
