I think the tight pacing was one of the few flaws that fic has. It's just long enough to tell the story it built up but the general concept seemed to have room for more foundation and thus more story to tell.

I think this is pretty impressive for 7 chapters over three months, AZKi. I am quite proud of it.

It's okay.
It felt like it was going to come together at some point but like, it never did.
For lack of a better word, this felt... 'formulaic'.
In that it all went according to their character archetype, tropes? I don't know the exact words but it felt like it all went moving along rails that were expected for every character based off of expectations of what they would be in a dark serious universe.
The religious bent for theming didn't really do much for this, though I guess that's mostly because the mumei 'twist' wasn't really that big of a punch for what that scene was meant to feel.
If I had to compliment something, I did at least enjoy your prose. It was actually quite compelling, making the journey and flashbacks a joy to read through, unfortunately this did also contribute to my disappointment that the plot never came together to make an interesting end to this.
Overall, it's on the cusp of being great but falls just short of it.

Did you also write that Ame fighting alternate universe Ame fic from a couple of weeks back? I don't think it was archived but this fic definitely reminded me of that one. Especially since they're both kind of ' good fics that lacked one last push to becoming great due to one aspect of their plot'.

When I first saw the character tags and read the synopsis I honestly rolled my eyes because this seemed like just another EN-only Amelia detective story with “Ina/Gura now turn bad”. We have too many of those in the archive.
So you can imagine my surprise and delight when this actually went kinda hard. Your prose is magnificent and you were able to build up the characters really well as I slowly pieced things together.

The only two things I didn’t like as I was reading was the fact that you, for whatever reason, decided to make them streamers. I’ve never really understood why people do this when it adds nothing to the story and just seems incredibly goofy in an otherwise serious work. Like, you could’ve had Cover be a company dedicated solely to housing powerful/unique beings or a company that hires people to specially deal with such beings. But instead it’s some weird combination of those two, and these godly, all-powerful beings and weapon-wielding soldiers are also… being hired as streamers? What? I get that’s what they originally are irl but you did not need to include that for this story where it’s one or two throwaway lines.
The second thing was that I found the dialogue between Kronii and Amelia tended to meander around and kind of repeat the same thing but word it differently without making much progress. These two things are just nitpicks though, they didn’t bring down my opinion of the story much at all. What did however, was the ending.

As I was reading through this I was nodding and really enjoying the meal. I was thinking that this could become my favourite non self-insert fic I’ve read here because it was honestly really great. I especially loved when Mumei jumped in and executed the two girls because she didn’t trust Kronii. I was like, “yeahhh! Go Mumeiiii!” and loved how she spread her wings of timepieces. And then… she became thirsty for God? Considering the fact that Mumei didn’t get any screen time it didn’t make sense for her to be the focus of the ending. Like, you spent such a long time masterfully crafting the relationship between Kronii, Amelia and Ina by dropping hints about their story, but instead of the ending focusing on a culmination of that (like Kronii going berserk because her friends are dead, or maybe Kronii meeting with God instead), you shoehorn this interaction between Mumei, who we know nothing about, and God, who says some vague stuff about saving them. Mumei’s desperation for God and how happy she feels after meeting him feels so random and meaningless because it wastes everything you built up beforehand. I guess you were trying to be unique and poetic but you could have done that with one of the characters we got to know, not the random who jumped in right at the end and killed everyone. What should have been the focus of the ending (the Kronii/Amelia/Ina relationship) ended up being a weird schizo moment between two characters we know nothing about (Mumei thirsting after God). While it didn’t ruin the whole fic for me, it definitely put a damper on things.

First of all, thanks for reading. Second of all, you summed up my problem as a writer well: Decent prose, mediocre plots. I don't really have an explanation as to why it turned out like that except that I was focused on making this vertical slice of what I thought would be "kewl" in a gritty ENverse fic (smoking chuubas, SCP-like Cover Corp., etc) and what I thought would be "eclectic" prose.
tl;dr I'm really bad at plotting and it's why I've been at a standstill with my other WIPs. For the life of me, I am having a very hard time constructing something that even approaches a semi-complex plot

Thanks for reading as well. At least you enjoyed it up until that part with Mumei. All I can really tell you is that I got really thirsty for Mumei for some reason when I got to the ending. If it's any comfort, the original ending was supposed to be picrel and I scrapped the Mumei part until I decided 'eh I'll throw it in'.
As for streamers, that's a relic of what my headcanon for the ENverse is, where Cover is this SCP-like organization but its "cover" is that all of its subjects are streamers. Kinda like in Sakura Wars where this Imperial Army unit that takes out demons masquerades as a musical troupe. I'm thinking it just didn't gel well when I just plopped that whole concept in there.

I think you need to talk with beta readers. Like straight up I think your problem is that you need someone to bounce your ideas off of that won't spoil it to your intended audience. Your prose is great, and you have the basis of a cool setting right there. Your real problem really does seem to lie in not knowing where to go next for your plots. So I think you need to start asking the beta reader emails if they want to bounce ideas while trading beta reading, or post your email to fish for beta readers willing to bounce plot points off of,

If you're still taking suggestions for the Ame wip, I think a way to fix the "Our Ame killed other Ame's parents" coming out of nowhere is by having it be hinted earlier. Maybe by way of a contextless flashback that implied Ame killed her own parents that's later run through again with more context, or something similar in order to drop the hint earlier.

About that. I do. I didn't run this story by them though because I just wanted it out of the door - so I could enlist their help instead with the more daunting task of reining in a 73k word manuscript that reads like Apocalypse Now after it was rewritten from memory by an unpaid intern.
As for the Ame fic I went back to it and found that I wrote this little ditty after Ame got hold of Pink Star & The Three Princes that was *supposed* to foreshadow the parents but obviously fell flat. I'll mark that part for rewriting once I dig myself out of this hole.

I would've liked to keep writing that dynamic between them some more, in fact I still do, but there were a lot of factors that were driving me to get the fic out sooner rather than later. Yeah, I my line of thinking was that Kronii had grown to feel something-not-quite-love and not-quite-friendship toward Ame, an enhanced sort of sympathy. The kind that one feels toward someone who's the closest thing they have to a friend, a 'non-friend'. So that's why in either ending, Kronii just couldn't really go through with it.
With Mumei, yeah, I was thinking it could be elaborated on like how she's gone through multiple cycles just to save Kronii and Ame's ass because God!Ina told her to, but I lacked in the setting-up. I was really just thirsty for Moom ass when I wrote that part
