Thanks, I can't expect feedback for an unfinished WIP but I'm glad to hear it had potential at least. The announcement made me pretty emotional, maybe I'll pick the WIP back up if I feel like it'd be honoring Aqua's legacy at some point. The idea was more to focus on the three women on their own, plus the sex scenes with you. The SoL house life stuff would mainly be there to hold it together.
My first idea for a "side story" was Ayame lying about her portal - it'd actually be teleporting her to Siberia, to a murderer hiding from the police in a lonely forest. She'd talk to him for a bit before consuming his body and soul, to keep her body young and to reinforce her humanity (to keep her demonic, bestial side in check). She's actually been banished from the demon realm so she can't rejuvenate there, but she won't admit that to her husband and her fellow wives.

Well, I won't be able to get that Aqua romance out before she leaves, even if i moved it up in queue. Too much I had planned for it and not enough ironed out. I havent even started anything on the damn thing. I still want to do it someday, just not right now.
I might be able to do something smaller I had planned if I drop my current wip. I just need a day or two to catch my breath and make an outline.

My WIPs... I must finish them before my oshi graduates...

Once again I'm reminded of how lucky I am for being married to Ayame in real life. I'm completely immune to the effects of my oshi graduating.

People actually scrap their stories when a chuuba graduates? I mean, you're writing a character. Unless you were writing it FOR her, or for someone else for that matter, I don't see why you'd give up on a fic just because the person you're writing about isn't going to stream anymore.

That's an interesting one. I would probably mold it to be slightly more believable in that rather than hiding, their family was just from way out in the middle of nowhere, so you never actually saw Suisei in person before, but had heard of an almost identical sibling. If your setting would decide it was against the rules for females to be knights, you can make it a strong contention point.

It's almost like people are upset and are acting irrationally. And like look, one of the fun things about writing vtubers is the fact that they are people and thus, dynamic and changing. Sometimes that can bite you in the ass but in general, it's a plus. When a vtuber, especially one in a corpo graduates, they "die". Yes, they might reincarnate and often do, but they are not the same "entity." That potential is snuffed out. Interest in writing a chuuba is dependent on how much you get to know them. You're not going to get any new interactions from "Aqua" or fuel to imagine new scenarios. "Aqua" will remain static when she signs off of her channel forever on the 28th.

You can still use her yes, but let's not pretend it's the same thing as if she was still going to be around.

This might sound overblown but when it's a talent I've invested a lot of time into watching, graduation has a similar gravitas to death in my head. Even if it happens on good terms it feels kind of slimy to keep fantasizing about them afterwards. They're more than a "character", they're a "person" I liked, and that weight is felt even more heavily if they don't have a smooth reincarnation.

Aqua definitely was the only one with a church ceremony because Shion and Ayame aren't Christians. Shion thinks of witches and Christians as traditional enemies and Ayame claims that she was friends with Jesus' followers and that they made up the story of how he came back from the dead.

On the legal marriage side the one available marriage fell to Aqua, too. Ayame doesn't have a legal identity because her last one would be in her 60s by now and she never bothered with a new one. I guess Shion might have a legal identity but she's never been identified after a witch stole her from her parents and raised her. She's still missing officially because she follows the ideal of leaving her family behind for the coven; that ideal is also the reason why her marriage will be controversial among her sisters.

In terms of jealousy, I don't think Ayame cares. She knows she's the most beautiful of them after rejuvenation and she had dozens of husbands by now, which gives her a wealth of experience and a lack of worry. If anything she's excited to be around her half-children and their descendants long after Anon, Aqua and Shion are dead since the she can't have children herself.
Shion is a bit insecure, but she trusts her husband and Aqua isn't looking very dangerous. She definitely wants to make herself be desired and precious though.

No one watches VODs that are more than a few days old; you'll probably never revisit 99% of your oshi's streams. We watch for the parasocial relationship and that only really exists while they're live. So when they say goodbye, it really is the end.
We write these stories out of passion, not for the 20 dudes who might skim through it. Once that's gone, there's very little motivation.
