Turns out its just one on wake up, two on blockstun , so its worse

Basically, there is no chance for throw loops in idolshowdown, which some might imply its a good thing but it also means the only thing you have to do is to block a bit then jab every single time you wake up and there is nothing the other guy can do about about it, which also means oki is worthless on idol showdown unless you have some oki button like ina drops or ollie ring

I got caught by this too. Kept getting jabbed out of oki grab attempts. Can't remember if there's anything like a drive reversal in the game, so maybe you just have to go for a meaty every time and hope that you timed it correctly

What you want to do is something called "active recall", basically test yourself to see if you remember and you will remember more

So basically i have this bad habit of doing drive impact after wake up when i see a drive rush
I used to literally soft slap me when it happened to see if the pain rewired the circuits but according to research you need waay more pain than that of a slap to make it work
Instead what i should do is to press the parry button immediately after the "wrong" drive impact, this will eventually create a " double habit" which will be easier to transform into the right habit.
According to reports this works for pretty much anything, if you find yourself biting your nails you can change that habit by pairing it with a different one such as chewing gum and eventually it will change to a chewing gum habit when nervous habit

If it was gamemaker the answer is no. Gamemaker had many netcode solutions, including rollback via the ggpogml or ggmr frameworks. It’s hard but not impossible.
Being made with Godot might make this more difficult depending on the solution. Popping on a simple delay-based netcode might be easier, but assuming Kay Yu wants to go down the road of rollback, that might pose issues. Rollback is hard in that you have to design your game around whatever framework is being used. Looking at the existing code, or at least what I could parse from it, it looked like some substantial ingredients for either solution were missing.

Bit of platform fighter design brainrot discussion. One of the things that makes smash distinct from other games is how squishy and smooth the collision is. If you play it vs any other platform fighter, you’ll notice how blocky and awkward all the others feel in comparison. Some try to smooth out this clunkiness by adding in strange edge cases that mimic some of the behaviors like slipping off edges or riding up walls, but few capture it. Part of this is helped by collision boxes “shifting upward” during aerial animations so you often land at the knees in melee. This is hard to replicate without following the diamond ecb of smash and manually shifting it, and most games miss the mark badly on the whole feeling.

To this day, 2XHolo is the only game that has even come close to capturing this feeling exactly. Don’t ask me how. It’s as baffling to me as the fact no others have managed.
