I think you should do whatever you feel like doing. Im not here to roleplay a courting male and i don't expect the vtuber to pander to angry incels who feel like talking to a female with a companion is a crime against them. I guess its the case of Vtubing being your job or your hobby. If you feel like being in a relationship will drive away your audience and you need to pander to that audience, then its a job to not have or hide that relationship.

Shes probably being somewhat doubtful she'd be able to juggle all her personal desires were she to find herself in a relationship. Which i can understand. Im single and my day is full with my personal hobbies which have no need for another person. Were i in a relationship i can see how alot of my personal hobbies and mostly habits would have to be significantly cut down. Not because the partner would be demanding, but i would be more motivated to spend time with them. Because a sense of love is much stronger than browsing lore wikis of a table top game, or making a 4th attempt at learning to code, or procrastinating on an image board after work hours.
