SCATMAN was the video that got me in the rabbit hole in general.

What got me into Fubuki was pretty much everything else. I saw lots of clips that were just compilation of her making cute noises while playing Minecraft, one that explained why she has two sets of ears, one in which she was playing Uno with some other Holos and talking in an onee-san voice, the infamous mining into the void video, her exploation of Wendy's menu, etc.
I guess the more I watched, the more I began to appreciate her.

A lot of people told me that she's bland or that she serves as a gateway and nothing more but it turns out it's a total lie - her design, voice and personality made me fall for her harder than I have for every other Holo.
Granted, I know that many people are saying that other Holos are much more entertaining and not as bland, and while I do agree that they have a lot of fun moments, they just don't do it for me the same way Fubuki does.
Maybe it's me being biased, maybe it's just me being boring, but whatever it is - Fubuki is, and always will be, my favorite.

She was one of my first vtuber experiences back in march '20, though the privilege of very first goes to suisei.
I didn't get it and stopped watching clips. Then EN came and I finally found something that kept my interest. I breathed the threads in /jp/ in that period.
I rediscovered Fubuki shortly after and read about her personality.
Then I watched her streams during deadhours. She was so I membered her and stayed membered ever since.
I guess one of her ASMR solidified her position above all of the others. I
I rarely watch other chuubas now. Ina occasionally plays vidya I'm interested in , the TTRPG is cool and Guras unarchived Karaoke as well as her personal member streams are also worth the watch. But Ames take on Asacoco is also interesting so I'll probably follow that.
Meanwhile,
Fubuki means something more to me than entertaining streamer ever since I read what she's done and this solidifies as I experience what she continues doing. To me, she is a "rolemodel for adults"(Don't know how to word it better), a muse and a true friend.

For me it was watching the VOID stream unfold live as it was happening. Before that, I had been watching her for a bit here and there, but I wasn't quite sold on her yet. But the VOID stream was so surreal and entertaining that I felt that there had to be more to this girl and I have been watching almost all of her content religiously ever since. She got her 2.0 Live 2D shortly after this as well, which made me fall for her design so much more, too. And when a lot of bad stuff like the Holocaust and the Aloe and China incidents happened over the course of the next few months, I realized more and more that she was a kind of force of stability and pillar of support for Hololive and more importantly the other Holos in general. It made me look up to her so much more. When she started being overtaken numbers wise by other Holos, I admired how she didn't even seem a tiny bit sad or jealous, that she was just happy for her colleagues. I don't know, I could list 100 more things I love about her, she is super entertaining, amazingly cute, has sharp wit, can be a total dork - she is pretty much the whole package. These days, I barely even watch anyone else outside of big events or random streams that catch my interest. FBK is all that matters to me. She was actually the first holo I've seen. Before that I was watching nijisanji, then I've stumbled upon her and was blown away by her model's cuteness and bounciness; cute voice, too, though it's even better nowadays, more natural.
I sticked around ever since, but it was her actions during Coco's fight that made me think "yeah, she's one of those you follow till the end". Hardworking girl with a beautiful soul. A true inspiration.
Sadly, it doesn't look like we share many interests. I don't find her boring, but her game choices are mediocre at best, and I think that may be of the main reasons most people think of her in that way. I couldn't care less for marvel and RTA, too, and I despise gacha shit, but we're all allowed to have some dirty pleasures in life.
Hollow Knight playthrough was my favourite, no doubt. She had great reactions and lots of thoughts to share with us during the journey, and the game itself is godly. Horror and TTRPG stuff is usually great, too.

While I absolutely agree with you with the fact that Des P. did a lot of work, that he should definitely be recognized for it, and that he's completely burning out, I've just finished reading the logs and... yeah, I totally understands why >>8070710 and >>8071023 reacted the way they did.
The way he talked about Fubuki was very harsh, almost straight up shitting on her in an unnecessary way and on unrelated things, it's hard to imagine someone talking about their oshi the way he did.
But still, ultimately, the guy is doing that for free on his own free time so I'm very thankful for his work, but he's clearly not enjoying Fubuki's streams anymore lately, and that's completely fine as long as he's not bringing up that directly to her or something.
If he doesn't drop her and wants to keep translating her, he should go the lyger / Jin way and only translate highlights, collabs, important streams or events, otherwise he's just going to burn out and end up in the very same situation again.
That's pretty much what other translators in the channel told him as well, no need to turn that into a full time job.
