the main one i've heard is basically FOMO: they want to have the corpo experience, have a bunch of genmates, one day if they and their corpo is lucky they might even get 3d or a concert down the line.
other reasons include getting support that they may need, better access to artists (quite a few good/reputable vtuber mamas only take corpo commissions), and sometimes just to make friends/connections.
