The content is stale and it has gotten pretty bad, not to mention how much more cancer the fanbase has gotten since about a year or so. Ina drawing and minecraft streams exclusively is what is keeping me mildly interested, her comfy vibe is something i havent found elsewhere and puts me to sleep like a baby.

I haven't watched a stream in weeks. I'd much rather spend the time playing my own games or on hobbies or doing anything else, really. Agreed. Because of how massive Hololive has become, the EN girls don't seem to put much effort into their streams anymore, much less community engagement. They clock in, stream on cruise control, and clock out.
After checking out smaller agencies, I see a stark contrast between those who get into vtubing because they love and enjoy it, and those who just want the fame and fortune.
If EN2 doesn't have talented entertainers who aren't socially inept, then I fear for the future of the EN branch.

I don't watch HoloEN that much so maybe an anon that does can correct me, but have they done anything in the area of voice acting? Man, I can remember everyone anticipating how this board will explode after EN2's announcement, and I was excited to be a part of it again.
But it's ... different this time. The hype just isn't there. I think people are becoming exhausted with the formula.
The designs are overall bland and underwhelming - only Sana seems the most unique and interesting, and yet she's the least subbed.
Maybe things around here and change during the actual debuts, but right now the shitposting feels ... forced. Like their hearts not really in it.

The rebellious streak and all of the creativity died with Coco's graduation. It sucked the soul out of all the JP's bodies and coincided with EN reaching anniversary time, 110% complacent in their low-effort successes. It's pretty bad when ID-2 are the only ones actually fun to watch anymore. Back then it was because there weren't that many EN vtubers from a company as big a name as Hololive, and things were still closed down. Coupled with the fact that EN Gen 1 was many peoples first exposure to vtubers, and the end result is just lightning in a bottle that can't ever be recreated.
It's not like there's a shortage in English Vtubers now either. There's tons of indies and growing corpos with their own followings. The girls will probably end up fine though, bar the rough start/nerves that almost always comes with debuts.

I started watching Niji EN because I like the group dynamic and they have better social media presence. They interact with their fans while the Holos are kinda at arms length. I think I've had multiple tweets liked by Finana now which is cool. Irs nice to think maybe I made someone smile who gives me so much entertainment, I guess

I moved on to NijiEN and some indie chubas. They're pretty new and are still kinda experimenting compared to the much established Hololive, so it's still a bit interesting.
