But some companies or products are more tailored to one gender than the other and acting like there's no differences between the talents in that regard is just going to make vshojo less attractive for some collaborations.

Even if Vshojo itself does nothing but make it a brand thing fans will have expectations of more collabs etc between members of a branch. Imagine something like Mata/Kuro/Michi or the kind of done "jp branch" of Henya/Kson/Nazuna. As we have seen the dynamics are much different than what would have been expected and might have made them less likely to spread out with other members. No one for example really expected Henya to become such a core member and end up mainly collabing with Zen instead of Kson or Nazuna. Branding wise I do think maybe showing more group images could be interesting. Though I do think just doing group sponsors and collabs help with that already without official Vshojo branding.

I think the point is the branding lead to nothing and any sense of VshojoJP as a brand disappeared with it. All 3 members ended up doing their own things mostly separate from each other. The only real benefit of it was having a presence in jp to help with making deals with other jp companies. And most of those deals weren't even made for the jp members but for vshojo as a whole. The other day during the cheeseboard stream Mata was the only one live and she literally didn't get any buff at all from being the only member live, she was right at her average, and she only lost like 100 viewers when Henya went live. This is an extreme example but it's essentially always like this.

There's a grain of truth here in that being in VShojo grants you an instant audience, like I don't believe Michi or Matara would be this big without the branding, but there was a LOT more going on in those examples than simply being /in/ or /out/. In particular Vei and nyan started streaming a lot more infrequently, got boyfriends and just generally stopped trying to be top vtubers. Silver also had some issues but she's changed her content the least and has suffered less of a decline as a result.

Mouse, henya and zen for example definitely have a decent overlap for example but people will prioritise their Oshi.
