My Oshi is a homocollaber and I never felt like she was overly flirty with her collab partner, and I think that restricting her streams is the anti-thesis of what I want. So it's safe to say that a holo has no financial depedence on her unicorns. The correct analysis is that most viewers support "quality content" and also those talents where the support clearly leads to more and better quality content. Usually, and in no small part thanks to how strong the holobox is, girls only content is more quality than coed shit.

People don't want to see coed content to hear a man talking to a woman for its own sake. People that want to see coed shit are shippers of the self insert type. If coed shit doesn't pander to the shipping, then it's shit. So when paired talents let the shippers win and pander to them, they get the views (gundou x kanda, roberu x mea, ironmouse x connor, etc. Even female ships like micomet) but this is branding kryptonite and that's why most don't egage.

I always find people who say this fascinating for a few reasons
One, 20% of 3 million dollars is 600k. Orca and Kanazuki were tracked at donating low-mid 5 digits worth in total and were the two highest donors at the time of termination. 600k is mid-high 6 digits. There is no way you can add up three 5 digit figures and reach a number even close to what you're suggesting.
Two, to be more specific, Orca was under 40k. It would take 15 Orcas to hit 600k. But of course the drop off was rather steep until it started hitting clusters of similar dono totals which I like to call "paypig plateaus". In reality, It took the top 100 donors to account for just half of her total.
Two, her SC is actually an underevaluation. Mikeneko was active for a year on twitcast while being Rushia, and she was actively funneling fans to her rm. Wanna know a secret everybody on this board doesn't know? Orca was never the biggest donor. The reason Kanazuki was #2 with Rushia, was because most of his donations were done to Mike at the time. Orca was unaware of Mike until the termination. But Kanazukis donations in total were in a league of their own, way above Orca. And there was plenty of massive donors on the Twitcasts back then too.
Four, SC and memberships make up over a third of Covers total income as per their own report. And that is COVERS income- which has become so big that they can make money as a company now without neccesarily involving the girls directly in everything they do to make money. How is somewhere around 40% of their income not something the holo girls depend on? Especially since that report gave an averaged percentage- some holos dont depend on them, but its made up for by others who absolutely do.
People like you underestimate how cheap the average consoomer is. The reason so much money is spent on advertising is because getting the general default poor-lower middle class people to spend money is hard. Getting them to spend somewhat freely is nearly impossible.
But they spend trillions on ads because every company the world over knows that they live or die based on making lots of normally jaded, stingy people decide to throw lots of money at them.
Whales look flashy, but everybody who has beem around long enough knows that there is often a small army of dolphins just a tier or two below them that match and often outclass the whales.
Also, there were literally instances of holos damn near begging for SCs a few months back. Fuck off with that "no dependency" shit lmao
