People like cutesy shit especially in japan and Marine knows very well how to draw cute stuff and on top of that she is the most popular vtuber in her country so it is no surprise how popular Kumarine has become she is basically the channel mascot now.

Marine is extremely underrated for her comedic talent. People always think of her as the yabai pirate but her willingness to go all-in on bits, as well as her high-tier chat teasing her, reminds me of why I love(d) Jerma so much. Her brand of humor where she makes fun of herself and makes herself the butt of jokes is very noble, reminds me of my love for Conan. Her erotic style isn't some cheap trick, but she actively plays with it to make it funny.

Great singer, great artist, great storyteller, and it's so obvious she loves her fans and her job. Such a likeable talent, will miss her greatly when she graduates.

I think I was lucky enough to wake up just 5 minutes before the stream started without knowing beforehand that there would be one and even luckier that the movie was in the disney plus catalogue (alongside netflix are the only subscriptions I have on my tablet)

I don't know how healthy it is to be the butt of your own jokes, there must come a point where you start to believe the bad things you say about yourself even if they are jokes, but then again Marine has terrible self esteem so maybe that's why she makes so many self deprecating jokes in the first place.

A good comedian prays to the altar of comedy, and your own shortcomings is a lot of the time the biggest well of silliness.

There are some people that are masters of high self-esteem and they are what we call narcissists (Suisei). You should have "self-esteem" that mirrors your competence level. If you ARE competent yet still harbor low self-esteem that just means you set a high bar for yourself which is a virtue that we should celebrate.
