Huh, nta but I got really into modding a hentai game (like making my own custom shit in blender, being an active modder in the community etc) and my vtuber time was always severely impacted from there. I do still keep them on in the background sometimes but vtubers have long not been my primary focus either.

Yet I'm still here all the time since I at least am curious what has been up lately, a month in vtuber world feels like a fucking year in other hobbies.

Somewhat retarded take. Even though games and movies are barely a hobby, at least you somewhat engage with it - you collect the games, you draw the maps for games, learn new lore or mechanics, or collect the DVDs for movies, and also games/movies can be considered a piece of art.
Watching streams has absolutely zero value, you just watch barely talented individuals do everyday stuff on screen, while you just stare at the screen for hours, because your own life is boring and empty, you don't engage with it, and it doesn't bring any value for you whatsoever.

I mean, yeah, but I use streams when I'm low on energy or when my retarded ADHD brain refuses to work on the things I usually find enjoyable.
I used to get high and watch streams though and that was absolutely just pure brainrot though. It helped do other things too but it made me ok with just watching streams which gets very unfulfilling after a while.

For me the opposite happened, I used to write fanfiction as a hobby but then I got into vtubers and all my creative drive just curled up and died. Now I just sit and watch streams while browsing this dumpster. Shit what the fuck am I doing

I watch vtubers and I still have time for ttrpgs, boardgames AND autism simulators. The only thing I had to drop was drawing and Warhammer40k when Work from Home ended.

I went from watching Holomyth, to NijiEN, to a variety of indies and finally to Phase for a while. None of them are as satisfying as a real story, or being able to talk to people about something more meaningful than why I think a vtuber acts in a certain way.
