>Kobo begins stealth streaming on Bilibili.

Nijisanji
>Sanbaka's 5th anniversary, originally scheduled for 6/15, is delayed to 12/6, due to Katarina Ange suffering from COVID.
>Recent investigations show that Bilibili is no longer a major stockholder of AnyColor Inc., indicating that at some point in March, Bilibili sold shares until they were holding less than 1% of the company. Readers should be advised that while discovery of this news is recent, the news itself occurred back in March at an undefined time.
>AnyColor releases their Q4 2024 financial report. Readers are highly advised to read the report themselves, but we will attempt to summarize some key points here. If you need deeper analysis, please refer to >>77954985

AnyColor Q4 Report Special Section
>AnyColor misses their yearly forecast by 3%.
>NijiEN saw an overall ~24% loss from 2023 to 2024. Revenue from Livestreaming, Promotion, and Commerce (merch) all saw losses, with only Events providing positive revenue. However, this revenue is not enough to cover half the losses from other categories.
>AnyColor claims that 68% of their fanbase is Female, with the 20-29 demographic making up 57% of the fanbase.
>~50% of AnyColor's revenue comes from talents debuted in their first two years of operation, with those in the first year making up 30% of revenue.
>3~5m Yen will be invested into "various projects", with 20b Yen on hand.
>AnyColor announces they intend to buy back more shares, from 6/12 to 8/31. They intend to spend roughly triple the amount spent on the previous buyback spree.

Phase Connect
>Tenma Maemi announces that she has recovered from COVID, after apparently being intubated and having a priest read her last rites.

>Neo-Porte announces rainy-day themed merch, to begin sale on 6/18.
>Aglio Olio E Peperoncino of Sony Music will sing the ED of the second season of Goddess Cafe Terrace.
>Socks Agency continues to tease...something.

Indies
>Sayu Sincro//Nisity announces that she will be joining a corpo at some point in the near future, retaining her IP and website. More on that below.
>NoraCat, JP indie, announces a collab with HICAT energy drinks, including a special edition release with an original label, stickers, and a stirrer for cocktails.
>Layna is banned for 24 hours from Twitch, following previous notice from Twitch that she would be banned for "exposing too much of the pelvic area". Layna's twitch rep is currently investigating the issue.

Other
>In a now-deleted post, GamerSupps stated that they were asked by the United States Secret Service to discontinue the LEAN flavor due to using Joe Biden's likeness on the packaging.

NOA Special Section
>Following the previously-mentioned announcement that Sayu Sincro//Nisity would be joining a corpo, a small agency, NOA Talent, updated their Youtube page to include "NOA RAEVEN PROJECT: KURO", a group consisting of a number of talents, most of which are formerly of black companies.
>NOA Talent, a subsidiary of Metishon (a large Chinese MCN), was founded in 2023.
>It should be noted that Metishon is also partnered with Bilibili, as well as being the MCN in charge of Kobo's channel on Bilibili.
>Previous reporting mistakenly connected AuroraLiveVR to Metishon, due to some confusion regarding a former AuroraLiveVR talent being on staff at NOA Talent. The staff member themselves appeared on /vt/ to clarify that the companies are not related, and alleged that the CEOs of the two companies (AuroraLiveVR and Metishon) "hate each other". They also clarified that the "leak" was due to a mishap while updating the Youtube page in preparation for an upcoming announcement. /news/ was able to confirm these as accurate accounts with the staff member independently.
>BriAtCookieBox, who was listed in the leak, has adamantly stated she does NOT intend to join any corpo for the forseeable future. However, /news/ was unable to get any clarification on this at time of writing.

If the thread goes down for any reason other than hitting bump limit, it will return between 6~9p ET.

Part of Anycolor's FY 2024 expenses include 4 million yen (around $25,000) in "settlement payments". This may have been for legal settlements, but "settlement" in accounting can simply mean for paying a debt of some kind, so it could also be Pomu's last paycheck. (Or it could be bribe money…)

Here's my mini-report on changes between Q3 and Q4:

The "Financial Results for" whatever quarter document (the one that looks like a slideshow presentation) isn't a legally required disclosure, unlike the "Financial Results for the Fiscal Year" document which is more dull (although it still has some nice quotes, like saying that NIJISANJI is "grooming" VTubers). This means that there's no required form for the slideshow. However, until 2024 Q4, there has been a very consistent style, so the change is a clear indication that some things--the things that were removed--were so unfavorable that they felt compelled to remove them. It hasn't always been exactly the same, but the changes which have been made were generally minor--not so substantial as eliminating half of the presentation.
First, the "Financial Summary". This has been showing a growing bar graph of FY 2024 (1) Revenue, (2) Operating Profit / Margin, and (3) Net Profit / Margin, with each quarterly report adding an additional piece, and comparisons being made to the "piece" (the relevant quarter) from FY 2023. It started off looking pretty good--they had about 90% Y/Y growth in (2) and (3) in FY 2024 Q1--but this cratered to 20% Y/Y growth by Q3. This page (showing the three graphs) is not present in the Q4 presentation. If we compare the actual numbers to the numbers the Q1 report touts, ANYCOLOR was looking towards the following at Q4: Revenue, 38241 (actual, 31996); Operating Profit, 17926 (actual, 12362); Net Profit, 12795 (actual, 8726). The forecast goals were deliberately understated so that, in the event of contingencies, there would be some breathing room, while still aiming for high growth. ANYCOLOR failed to hit any of the forecasts, much less exceed them.
Next up is the table of "Financial Reports"--pretty sleepy, right? But actually, the Q4 report is more sparse on details here as well. The Q4 report gives revenue, costs of sales (broken up into direct and other costs), and operating, ordinary, and net profits (with margins for each). The Q3 report gave revenue (broken up into NIJISANJI (just JP), NIJISANJI EN, and other), costs of sales (broken up into direct and other costs), gross profit, SG&A expenses (broken up into four categories), and net profit. So, the gross profit is bad, and NIJISANJI EN is bad--those were the main items removed.
Now for the colorful "Revenue (Quarter)" graphs. The Q3 report has one for NIJISANJI and one for NIJISANJI EN, with the bars being broken up to show sources of revenue for each. The Q4 report has one for branch and one for source. This hides the decline in NIJISANJI EN by mixing up promotions. You can, however, see that the NIJISANJI EN group revenue has declined continuously since FY 2023 Q3. Note also that the low performance of FY 2024 Q3 was explained away by a shift in dates--the same shift that buttresses this Q4. That's why they can boast a 47% Y/Y increase (which they show twice for some reason). This means that the FY 2025 Q1 report will be without the boost, so expect a significant drop Y/Y with that report. Will Riku have the money for a buyback then?
Riding this Q3-Q4 bump, the report shifts focus from the "Operating Margin (Quarter)" of previous reports to "Operating Profit (Quarter)". The decrease in "Direct Variable Costs" means less many going to the livers. (I'm looking to prepare a separate mini-report on that subject soon. I haven't run the exact numbers, but basically, while the company was 47% up Y/Y, the livers as a group were probably up only about 10% Y/Y, if that--and that's not counting how new livers get very little in NIJISANJI (both JP and EN).)
Next is "Number of VTuber and ANYCOLOR ID" (in both reports), but the graphs are cut much shorter now than they used to be. This is especially clear for the "Number of VTuber" graph--despite bragging about introducing more talents, the revolving door doesn't seem to increase the total number by very much. That explains the 20+ new debuts in the past year but only two more talents total in that time period.
The next slide is "Number of Employees" and this graph gets the cut-short treatment to match the last slide's two graphs. They mention "new graduate recruitments" for the substantial increase in employees, but I'm not sure what this means. In any case, the more employees (given the same number of VTubers) and the decrease in Direct Variable Costs means less money to the talents.
Now, what follows in the Q3 report is a summary of the company's progress towards its projected forecasts. This summary included short statements of what ANYCOLOR was doing to achieve those goals. The following slides then included many pretty pictures of all of the new VTuber projects they had started. Of course, having failed to meet the projections, these glowing images are absent.

>> No.77974894

>>77974835
The second slide here--"Revenue by Business Area"--is carried over from "Attractive Financial Model Achieving Both High Growth and High Margin" which they included in previous reports. The updates for FY 2024 Q4 are not bad, necessarily, but show off a recurring theme--ANYCOLOR has trouble with diversification. Growth in merchandise, event, and sponsorship revenue stalls, while livestreaming revenue actually declines. At this rate, only two approaches--merchandise and sponsorship--become the main avenues of revenue, as opposed to the traditional four. (Note that Cover does not have this problem. I will show this off more in an upcoming mini-report comparing Cover's and ANYCOLOR's respective FY 2024 Q4 reports.)
The first slide is basically the "Financial Summary" graphs that got cut from the beginning--they're now buried in the text. Importantly, they omit the (missed) forecasts, and show a pretty heavy stalling in all three departments. (I'm planning another mini-report on stalling figures by looking at first and second derivatives. By the way, feel free to say that you want one mini-report over another.)
They also add a "Revenue by Quarter" slide in an effort to dissuade investors from caring about the quarter-to-quarter variations in revenue. Riku pulled this trick in the Q3 report by mentioning all the events that got shifted to Q4, but now the over-inflated Q4 will come crashing down to FY 2025 Q1.
They finish off with some FY 2025 Q4 predictions. I mention that these predictions are about what they "expected" to get based off of FY 2024 Q1 results--the revenue a little higher, but the operating and net profits lower. This is after failing to meet their FY2024 predictions, I may add. The change in predictions (for FY 2024 and FY 2025) are as follows: They predicted a 30.2% growth in revenue, now 21.9%; a 35% growth in operating profit, now 19.7%; and a 34.4% growth in net profit, now 18.7%. As you can see, they've about halved their expectations from last year.
The final slide (ignoring the copy-and-pasted graphs and disclaimer at the end) gives a more detailed FY 2025 Q1 prediction. The plan is the same as always--the plan that's caused them to miss their FY 2024 forecasts--along with this quote: "business growth is driven by NIJISANJI in Japan". It seems that NIJISANJI EN is now a lost cause, to be cut off as needed. When going public NIJISANJI KR and NIJISANJI ID were canned and those branches integrated into NIJISANJI, at what cost is generally known. I expect similar things to happen to NIJISANJI EN based on this report. Now, the branch may not be completely dissolved, but it may be brought more into line with NIJISANJI management to reduce branch-dedicated managerial and related staff. I imagine the problems which led to the ongoing wave of NIJISANJI ID graduations to start to plague NIJISANJI EN.

Feel free to mention which of the mini-reports I mentioned you would like to see first. In addition to those mini-reports, I am planning on doing some more work on looking at NIJISANJI EN superchat revenue long-term, which should be a decent metric for support for the company and for cannibalization.

Standard business stuff: never let them see you sweat. It's still amusing.

>> No.77975558

>>77975158
Yeah, it's not at all clear from the Q4 report the poor straights EN is in. The real reason _I_ can see the sweat is by tracking the changes in report design. Again, I predict underperformance in FY 2025 Q1. I'm also interested in how he got the FY 2025 forecasts--those are about half of this fiscal year's. They only missed their FY 2024 forecasts by a few percentage points. Either they want to really overperform on FY 2025 forecasts (although investors will see through that, it's too common of a trick) or Riku expects to take a big hit. I'm looking forward to what comes out of the shareholders' meeting, at least.

The likely repercussions are that people start pulling out as they no longer have the money to pay for sponsorships, given the legal battle they're going to be fighting now with a government. The best case scenario barring an employee getting fired/scapegoated is that it stays in the political sphere and brings more eyes on them... but you're not going to have righties buy a Joe Biden flavor and you're not going to have lefties do it since they hate fake PR more than anyone else. Basically all you've done is make yourself the butt of a joke for absolutely nothing and now have a government cracking down on you, so good job Gamersupps. Frankly I'm sad my oshi will make just a bit less money but I've always hated that shitty brand to begin with.

Buy Back anon here, it's time to pump some numbers for lunch.

THE EMPIRE BUYS BACK
Anycolor's Share Buyback is a major success as it rallies investors, as Anycolor's stock has soared to 2864 yen (500) as they hit the circuit breaker for lunch. I'm not expect much change for them tonight. Just a question on how many stocks move today.

A NEW COVER
Cover isn't standing still however, as they ride the wave to a strong 1950 yen (144). They're not gonna be at a standstill like Anycolor, but looking at the charts I expect them to stay in that 1900 area.

OTHER
Despite a strong start, Nikkei has dropped into the negatives, currently facing a 0.12% loss.

That's all for now, I'll see you all in a few hours.

Stomp Womp anon here. It's time to close us out.

ANYCOLOR AT THE TOP
Anycolor stays at the limit today, closing out at 2864 yen (500), as they finally make proper progress to recover from their Q3 report. They still have a ways to go however, as they're 276 yen from the day before the markets opened after the report went out. And that's not even getting to before the Selen termination (they need 976 more yen.) Regardless a good sign for the stock from a neutral standpoint, but the question is how much more momentum do they have.

COVER RIDES THE TIDES
Cover will appreciate Anycolor's buybacks as they ride the momentum up to 1944 yen (138) to close out today. If I'm being honest, I expect them to once again be stuck riding Anycolor's momentum for the foreseeable future. Amazingly enough, today's trading volume is the highest it's ever been before, narrow beating out former 1st place that being the 2nd day they went into the market.

OTHER:
The NIKKEI closes out a 0.4% loss.
Here are today's trading volumes.
Anycolor: 8.9 Million (I think hitting the limit hindered them?)
Cover Corp 28.5 Million

Not a big stockbro but I'll just give it to ya straight: when a buyback is announced, people buy in. Because if the stock floats until the buyback is complete, you've made money. And if it doesn't float until the buyback is complete, you still made money. They're not being rewarded for the Selen incident, they're being rewarded for pumping in basically all of the profits they made this quarter into inflating the value of the stock.

The question now is if it will blow on their face. Last time they lost 2.5bil ¥ in the crash, bad but in the margin of their operating profits. Now we are out of them and into revenue.
If for any reason the shares crash before they capitalize on it, they will be in ACTUAL deficit, which means they are basically leaving the fate of the company in the hands of the shareholders.
The question is how aggressive they will be in the meeting, especually when Anycolor seems very confused on where to go: their oversea expansion is doing badly and being litigious in entertainment has never worked (google Streisand effect), thry promose to accellerate in getting new talents but they themselves present a graphic that says only their oldest talents are keeping the yacht afloat, meaning they are presenting a bad idea.
Add the fact other companies are encroaching and surpassing them, and the weaking japanese economy over the growth of investment interest in Korea and Taiwan, A 20% annual increase soinds like a “to the moon” call that is severely questionable.

makes sense that current noa and ex auroralivevr manager chick quinn came here yapping cuz she will cling to anything she can. after causing multiple scandals with the last corp, im surprised she manages to find ways to stay relevant. props to her for tricking everyone into thinking she was a victim too. survival instinct is strong with her. she will go far with her expert levels of deception.

from her original indie nillavt she was already involved in drama for leaving other streams open without permission while sleeping on her own stream and she still does this type of stuff cuz she is based. then when she joined auroralivevr she scammed some xitter artist named 4ckerly under her first name with auroralivevr “juna yuriko” and pretended to be fired. this chick is my favorite trainwreck.

if only the other whores from auroralivevr were as entertaining. but they all pale in comparison and the others that joined noa show that without the same type of models they had in auroralivevr they aren’t as desirable. only she stands on top but not with numbers but with drama that can make any dick hard especially mine. i hope she goes menhera on here over this so i can bust the biggest load over it later because she acknowledged me.

Rereading the Q&A report makes me feel I either know nothing of economy or I’m too smart to be bedazzled.
Riku promises a constant 20% annual growth with a total buyback return of 30bil ¥ in three years. This at the moment requires them to spend money in several buybacks of the same volume. Buybacks are usually not good enough as a profit, they are meant to be paired with speculations and as such as vulnerable to counter-speculation like short selling. They are heavily reliant on shareholders trust.

To promise this volume it would require to triple their event distribution, and at the aame time spend the great majority of the money returned back into shares. The entire thing sounds like a ponzi scheme sell pitch, “clients grow infinitely so it will never end” which has been proven wrong hubdreds of times, especially considering the fierce competition in JP.
The only thing that would make sense is new branches, invasting in new markets, but they said they want to focus domestically. How the heck you plan to triple profit in a market that you are already showing to be close to the ceiling and it’s having it’s own problems growing?
What kind of planning is this?

Fiscal Year ending April 30, 2024: Fourth Quarter Financial Results [#4]

Riku Tazumi (hereinafter, Mr. Tazumi): Thank you all for gathering here to-day. I am Riku Tazumi, CEO of ANYCOLOR Inc. First, CFO Shinya Tsurui will discuss the financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ending April 30, 2024.
Shinya Tsurui (hereinafter, Mr. Tsurui): I am the CFO, Mr. Tsurui. I will give an overview of our performance.
In the fourth quarter, we had a revenue of 8,722 million yen and an operating profit of 3,321 million yen. Compared to the same period last year, we saw significant growth in both departments, with revenue particularly increased by commerce [merchandise] sales.
Among our best-selling items this quarter were "Nijisanji" anniversary goods sold in February, goods related to the popular VTuber event held in April, and music CDs.
For the full year, the company had 31,996 million yen in revenue and 12,362 million yen in operating profit, in both cases slightly below the initial forecast.
In the fourth quarter, sales increased due to the release of new merchandise, but some sold toward the end of the quarter was not counted because of late shipping. In addition, "NIJISANJI EN" goods and promotions did not reach expectations, resulting in lower-than-expected figures.
Direct variable costs were 44.8% of revenue, which is a good amount compared to last quarter and this time last year. In the background, there was improvement in the variable costs for commerce and events. For commerce, we were able to control the cost ratio because of our review of sale prices and product sourcing, which began in February and April.
As for events, we held "NIJISANJI fes." in the third quarter. Although some of the events were special, like the festival, and had poor profit margins, we believe the music events in the fourth quarter had good results and profit margins.

Revenue (Quarter) [#5]

I'll explain the groups. First, under live streaming. Although there was a slight decline in live streaming revenue, we believe that it was mainly due to spending being directed towards "NIJISANJI fes." and that it is otherwise on par with last quarter's results.
In commerce, as I have explained, sales were strong for all Japanese "NIJISANJI" related goods.
For events, we held live events in the fourth quarter for some popular "NIJISANJI" VTuber groups, including "ChroNoiR" and "ROF-MAO". We believe that these events had good results.
Promotions are likewise at an all-time high. Although there were no major deals in the fourth quarter, the total revenue for promotions increased due to an increase in the number of promotions.
By branch, we believe that the momentum for the domestic "NIJISANJI" group continues to be strong. We strong growth centered on the top-ranked VTuber units. We look forward to solid growth in the upcoming fiscal year and beyond, focusing on the popular "NIJISANJI" group in Japan.

Operating Profit (Quarter) [#6]

Let me explain the costs. As mentioned, our direct variable cost ratio was 44.8%, which is a good result. We hope to continue with this level of performance.
Other cost items include a one-time bonus in the fourth quarter, which amounted to 200 million yen. Also, office-related expenses are increasing as the result of the construction of a new studio planned for this fall.
In addition, a hefty one-time promotional expense was incurred in the fourth quarter, but we believe that this was counter-balanced by net sales resulting therefrom.
In sum, the operating profit margin was 38.1%. Although the profit margin tends to shrink in the fourth quarter due to bonuses, we believe that this result was good considering.

Number of VTuber and ANYCOLOR ID [#7]

The number of VTubers and ANYCOLOR IDs. In the fourth quarter, three VTubers debuted and two graduated from "NIJISANJI" in Japan, and two graduated from "NIJISANJI EN".
For the debuts, we created a new group, "3SKM". We usually sell goods commemorating the debut of new VTubers. The sales of these welcome goods are very good compared to previous years' sales and we look forward to more growth in this department.

Number of Employees [#8]

Number of employees. The number of employees increased substantially due to the hiring of 10 new graduates in April, in the fourth quarter.
The new employees are for areas such as merchandise development and corporate sales, following that side of our business's expansion, and more general personnel including VTuber production, VTuber manager positions, studio engineers, and other positions.

Summary of Full-year Financial Results [#10]

Now, our full-year results. We have 31,996 million yen in revenue, 12,362 million yen in operating profit, and 8,726 million yen in net profit.

>> No.78056720

Revenue by Business Area [#11]

By type, growth is clearly centered on commerce. In addition, the "BtoB" promotions show good signs of growth. [I think that is referring to the Korean boy band BtoB, which was written in Latin characters.] We believe growth will be centered on commerce and promotions in the future.
We also believe in the potential for growth in events. We intend to expand our efforts in that area as well.

Revenue by Quarter [#12]

Here are our quarterly figures. As reported earlier, the contribution from commerce is significant, amounting to about 60% of total sales.
Commerce sales are generally quite variable, as they depend on what products are launched and the timing of new products. In addition, there is no seasonality as products are not timed to specific points of the year.
In this fiscal year, the first and fourth quarters were strong, but the second quarter was well below average, and the third quarter was not much better. On the other hand, the third quarter from FY 2023 was very good.
The commerce-based revenue structure is prone to volatility, even when looking at the fiscal year level.

Financial Forecasts for FY2025.4 [#14]

This is our forecast for the upcoming fiscal year. In general, we look to grow by centering the development of popular VTuber units, to improve per-VTuber earnings, and to attract new fans through new debuts and other means.
In terms of type of sale, we would like to expand events and promotions, while focusing on commerce.
In terms of groups, we intend to grow our business by focusing on popular Japanese "NIJISANJI" VTubers, as we believe that "NIJISANJI" in Japan has a very strong base with good potential for future growth.
As mentioned, our volatility has been particularly pronounced in this fiscal year. For more than six months, we have worked to standardize our commerce sales over time as we plan for next fiscal year's performance. We plan for the upcoming fiscal year to be less volatile than the past fiscal year.
A breakdown of the first and second half of the fiscal year is shown on the slide.

Outlook for First Quarter of FY2025.4 [#15]

The forecast for the first quarter of FY 2025 is shown on the slide. The first quarter of FY 2024 had a large number of popular items, particularly in commerce. As a result, the first quarter had unusually high sales. This fiscal year we have redistributed similar sales to the second and third quarters, where we did not perform as well last year.
As a result, we expect reduced revenue and profits compared to the first quarter last year.
On the right side of the slide is an example of some items already announced. We believe that these are a good starting point.

Business Overview [Management Policy for Mid-Term Growth, #3]

Tazumi: Let me explain our management policy for mid-term growth. First, let me give a brief overview of our business.
Our company was founded in 2017 and started debuting VTubers under "NIJISANJI" in 2018. As shown on the slide, we are one of the largest VTuber companies in Japan, with a wide variety of VTubers, both male and female, as well as non-human characters.
VTubers are part of an ecosystem that promotes connections with fans through music, programming, short videos, and other content distributed on "YouTube" like live streams, as well as merchandise sales through commerce, live events, promotions, &c.

Long-Term Performance Progress [#4]

Long-term performance. We were founded and started our business in 2017, at the dawn of the VTuber era. Since its inception, the company has grown to become one of the largest VTuber companies in Japan.

Our Business Model [#5]

Let me explain our business model. The process of debuting a VTuber involves selecting candidates from an applicant pool which may include 10,000 people, and giving them lessons in singing, acting, talking, reaction, &c.
They also learn about compliance measures and harassment response, with the goal of producing VTubers active in the middle- to long-term, making their debuts after a training period of six to eighteen months.
After debut, we develop business in four directions, centered around live streaming and social networking activities.
Live streaming revenues account for 16%, commerce for 59%, events for 6%, and promotions for 18%.

Quarterly Fluctuations in Each Business Model [#6]

As Tsurui mentioned earlier, there is a certain degree of quarterly fluctuation.
This slide shows quarterly sales for the four categories. Live-streaming revenue and promotions are generally stable, though with some seasonal fluctuation. Commerce and events, as Tsurui mentioned, can fluctuate quarter-to-quarter depending on the presence or absence of VTubers, types of content, and bias.
Beyond short-term fluctuations, we look to long-term growth by growing our revenue base, which will occur through the growth of individual VTubers.

>> No.78056759

>>78056720
ANYCOLOR's Market Environment (1) [#7]

This is the market environment for VTubers, which is the market for our company. Please examine the bar graph on the left-hand side. The domestic VTuber market has been estimated to be about 80 billion yen in FY 2023.
The bar graph on the right-hand side shows the projected growth of the Virtual Idol/VTuber market, from $1.08270 billion in 2023, to a projected fourfold increase by 2029 to $4.04433 billion.
We expect the VTuber market to grow substantially, and we seek to develop our business in a way that will lead the market.

ANYCOLOR's Market Environment (2) [#8]

As the VTuber market has grown, our company and one other company have come to account for more than one half of the total industry, as shown in the pie chart on your left-hand side. [Note: the pie chart is not to scale, not that he mentions that.]
The background for this is shown on the right. Our "NIJISANJI" fanbase makes it easy for existing VTubers and new debuts to become popular and act freely.
Looking at the infrastructure, VTubers need real-time motion capture, so there are technologies, studios, and live streaming equipment unique to VTubing. We believe that this sort of environment is what encourages concentration.
Numerous other companies have entered the market, but two companies still account for most of the market share. This market gives a substantial benefit to companies with established communities.

Features of ANYCOLOR (1) Diverse Fan base [#9]

The first of our characteristics is our diverse fan base. Because of our wide variety of VTubers, we have a broad range of fans of both sex and age, especially with the youth and Generation Z.
The pie chart on the left side shows fans by sex. The large number of women is a unique feature of our company. [You don't say....]

Features of ANYCOLOR (2) Revenue Spread Across VTubers [#10]

The second feature is that our earnings are spread out among many VTubers. The pie chart on the left-hand side shows contribution by debut year. It shows how much VTubers who debuted during those years contribute to the overall total.
Regardless of the timing of debuts, all VTubers, well-established and newly debuted, contribute to our profits.
The graph on the right side of the slide shows the revenue contribution per VTuber. The top 10 VTubers account for about 30%, and the top 30 about 50%.
Compared to other areas of entertainment, like video games, animation, and other talent agencies, each VTuber contributes a more even amount to our revenues, rather than having a single dominant content or talent.
We believe that this diversification of revenues across a wide range of VTubers helps contribute to a better structure which promotes stable and sustainable growth.

Mid-Term Management Goals [#12]

Now, I will discuss our plan for medium- and long-term growth. For FY 2024, we had 31,996 million yen in revenue and 12,362 million yen in operating profit.
We plan to increase revenue and profit in the three-year period ending with FY 2027, with 60,000 million yen in revenue and 24,000 million yen in operating profit. We thus expect a 23% annual growth rate for revenue and a 25% annual growth rate for operating profit.

Important Policies in Mid-Term Management Goals [#13]

These are our main policies to achieve those goals. We hope to increase the continual development of VTubers at a rate of 10% per year and increase our profit per VTuber at a rate of 15% per year.
In order to increase the number of VTubers, we will strengthen our VTA (Virtual Talent Academy) efforts, as well as the debut and audition process to expand our existing fan base.
To increase profit per VTuber, in addition to content development, we will work to produce units and expand commerce production.
We will continue to create new initiatives and new lines of commerce, all of high quality, but we also need to strengthen our business foundation. Our main policy on this front is to hire more employees and expand our studio. I will explain this in detail on the next slide.

Strengthen ANYCOLOR's Foundation to Support VTubers [#14]

First, we are looking to hire new employees. We are focusing on increasing personnel in commerce and promotions in order to produce new VTubers, increase content, and increase production lines.
Looking to quality of content, we will continuously increase hiring, with a focus on designers and engineers.
We believe that this will serve as a basis for the growth in the number of VTubers and the profit per VTuber, each of which I have previously mentioned.

>> No.78056804

>>78056759
Capital investment in distribution studios [#15]

Now, to capital investment in our distribution studio. We are in the process of an expansion which will triple the size of our existing facilities. We believe that the studio is necessary to create live streams and recorded content, and the increase in scale will increase the quantity of content we can handle.
In addition, we are creating a system that will create higher quality motion capture and recording/MA capabilities.
This studio will be able to greater fulfil the desire for the fan base of "NIJISANJI" VTubers.

Strengthening VTA (Virtual Talent Academy) Initiatives [#16]

Now I will take about our VTA (Virtual Talent Academy) initiative. As mentioned, we receive about 10,000 applications. From these, we select about 50 or 60 for a growth rate of 10%-15% per year.
For these selectees, we run a system to produce VTubers sustainable in the middle- to long-term, with lessons in acting and voice training and lectures on compliance and harassment avoidance.
We will strengthen these efforts by increasing the number of recruits and making the environment more conducive to the acquisition of talent.
On the right side, you will see a unique audition system we have been working on recently. The Mascot Liver audition is for people who want to VTubers in the realm of "fancy characters".
In addition, the "Super Elite Liver" audition is for businessmen or professionals, who have not been seen as a potential source, to join the project. We are planning these acquisitions to widen our fan base.
We are working on other initiatives in addition to these two just mentioned. We will continue to pursue our efforts to attract new livers and in turn increase our fan base.

Strengthening Unit Production [#17]

Now, about strengthening unit production. VTubers are individuals who develop their activities through live streaming on "YouTube" and connections through SNS.
In addition to this, there are activities as units. For example, with four-person units, we can plan music, programming, goods, events, and other activities. We have come to realize that the audience for units is different than the audience for the individuals.
The activities of the unit develops a new fan base, which boosts each of the members of the unit. In turn, the individual activities of the unit's members will feed back into the unit as a whole. This increases the growth and breadth of activity, and eventually, profit.
In the future, we will create a system which will lead to the development of one or two new units per year, and to increase production of goods associated with units.

Strengthening of Commerce Expansion [#18]

Now, strengthening commerce [merchandise].
Firstly, we will expand product planning and manufacturing lines. As mentioned earlier, this will be accomplished by increased hiring in these areas.
Secondly, we will develop a proper sales schedule. We believe that we need the right amount of lead time to be able to develop products which will sell well. We will try to reduce opportunity losses by more lead time for planning and better sequencing in distribution.
Thirdly, planning products in line with current trends. Plushies are all the rage these days. For this reason, we have developed the "NIJI Puppet" line of plushies representing our VTubers, along with "Cheki-style cards" as high-quality products.
By planning and selling high-quality, trend-setting products that will be of high demand among our fans, we hope to strengthen our commerce sales and increase profit per VTuber.

Business Investment and Shareholder Returns [#19]

Let me give you an image of capital allocation. In our medium-term plan, we plan to have about 40 billion yen available by FY 2027. At present, we have about 16 billion yen.
As for the allocation of these funds, first, a certain amount will be put aside for investment in human capital in terms of hiring new employees and developing new VTubers. However, this is really an operating expense and has already been accounted for.
We plan to invest 3 to 5 billion yen into our new studio, and into animation, games, mixed media, and other derivative works. We expect to have 20 billion yen cash-on-hand and in M&A investments.
The remaining 30 billion yen+ will be returned to shareholders. Mainly, this will be done through stock repurchasing. Presently, the Board of Directors have resolved to repurchase 7.5 billion yen of stock through market purchases between June 13 and August 31, 2024.
In terms of M&A, we expect to have a 50 billion yen pool for the purpose. Although it has not been incorporated into our medium-term strategy, we will take advantage of any opportunity which comes our way.
The VTuber business is based around character and personality tied to IP, so growing and monetizing the IP is a big part.
As a possible target of M&A, we are also examining other entertainment companies for IP development. In addition to VTubers, we also look towards more and more types of IP for our company to handle.

Long-term Vision [#20]

Finally, our long-term vision. We believe that the logical end point of the VTuber market is the Japanese animation industry, a market on the continuum from TV, radio, and movies to SNS and "YouTube". Therefore, we believe that the next target for VTubers should be the domestic animation market.
I believe that VTubers also have the potential to be like [television] personalities and characters.
Thus, we will expand our development activities to include, for example, idol-like activities as a personality, or activities like a singer, artist, or comedian, in order to further broaden the fan base of VTubers.
In addition to this expansion, we also seek to increase derivative work creation, as I mentioned, including in the fields of animation, video games, and mixed media, that incorporate VTubers as characters.
We believe that there is also a strong demand for anime in other countries, and we intend to expand by making a commitment to overseas expansion.
We would like VTubers to become a cultural symbol representative of Japan, and as a company engaged in VTubers, to, through our works, represent Japan in other countries.

SHOWCASE, Activ8's semi-flesh VTuber group, has terminated their contract with the voice actor of one of their members, Yumekana Eruru, in a mutual agreement due to her health problems. Due to the short time of activity (Eruru debuted on April 27th, 2024), both the management and the former voice actor have expressed desire for a new talent to fill the role.

>at a rate of 10% per year
This makes me wonder if he made a similar promise last year--note that there has been a net gain of two VTubers in the whole company, despite a panoply of debuts.
>white collar workers
This made me think of Tenma, actually; it would be interesting to see what comes out of it, if anything. It does seem to me, however, to be a strange line of approach to be so openly stated.

(Pull the) Lever Kronk anon here, it's time for the final lunch report of the week!

ANYCOLOR STALLS OUT
The rush has stalled out for Anycolor as their stock has dropped slightly down to 2827 yen (-37) as we head to lunch. It seems it'll be flipping between their closing price from yesterday, so we'll have to wait to see what happens.

COVER COWERS
Cover stocks are on a harsher downfall, as they head to 1875 yen (-69) for their lunch price. I recommend some alcohol to ease the pain if you're holding some stocks.

OTHER
NIKKEI sees a small bump of 0.4% for lunch.

That's all for now, I know a QnA transcript dropped but I'll probably not do anything about it. All we wanted/needed to know is that EN looks to be abandoned in trying to improve it.
With that said, see you in about 3-4 hours.

So this means that yes, NIJI EN has become completely negligible and Riku is promising 30bil of shareholders return in total when in all this time he has only accumulated 16 bil of operatinv profit. He also has given no idea how he will basically triplicate profits except accelerating domestically, which is CLEARLY not working based on this year.

Yeah, a lot of the Q&A was boring investor stuff (Tsurui: No, we do not have a dedicated amortization plan for our M&A money that probably won't be used anyway), but the stuff related to NijiEN was fairly minimal and did not indicate any faith in the branch. The two most conspicuous things to me were Tsurui (I think it was him) stating that the company's FY 2025 forecasts _only_ looked at NIJISANJI--they completely ignored NIJISANJI EN--and the second is the related fact that the slideshow and the report/Q&A basically don't mention NIJISANJI EN at all, except to mention disappointment and in response to three different questions in the Q&A.

I will never understand why indietards treat indies like a unified group run by a corporation

>> No.78117003

It's more like a "We the People" thing, it's not a structured group but an idea of an anonymous collective that represents the will and the ideals of an entire culture and its people

You say that but then you start throwing around statements like "four years behind indies" like indies are a unified group with a unified standard by which we can judge "indie quality" by

we'll only find out once Sayu's officially in. I speculate it'll be somewhere between Mythic and VShojo.

There is a wide range of quality and a variety of different styles in indie VTuber models, you're right, but there's also a general idea for a standard of quality among indies, especially among popular indies, that the big corpos haven't been able to match for a long time due to things like proprietary software and in-house artists/riggers. Their bureaucracy just doesn't allow them to keep up with how fast independent technology and creators have been advancing

Have you considered using specific examples instead of using "indie" as a group term like Shylily has the exact same level of model quality as kongou?

I just showed you two examples of high quality indie models. Nanoless, Yoclesh, Yenkoes, and Yuniiho among others all put out really good stuff, and they can do it a lot faster too because they're working directly with a small number of chuubas instead of having to conform to corporate mandates and service dozens of chuubas simultaneously

And no one is pretending that Shylily and Kongou are on the same level when it comes to models, Shylily's new model is worse

The thing with indies is that specifically there is no quality standard, which means it can have significantly higher quality than corporations who keep a standard. You could commission one with 5k dollars and get a model with more bells and whistles than Hololive or Nijisanji have ever added to their models, or you could get a PNG on a stick with a puppet's mouth flap. Also like >>78117583 said, proprietary software is the ultimate killer here. Even if you wanna say John Artist isn't a better rigger than people who do it professionally for games like Blue Archive, the fact that John's using Live2D or Vseeface or any other software that's relatively well-documented and has had thousands upon thousands of peoples experiences to learn from versus Blue Archive's (well I'm pretty sure this specific one does use Live2D and also they're not doing tracking to my knowledge but for arguments sake) proprietary rigging software which has... a manual. If you're lucky. And the only experiences you can draw on are your direct coworkers who could range from "dude I only really coded how the Z-axis works" to "I don't know how the internals of the program works I just use it". You'd be lucky if you had more than 100 different people you could talk to when it comes to Nijisanji or Hololive's rigging softwares, doubly so since in an official corporate setting using hack-y solutions is likely shunned and using secondary software or modifications would be outright banned, which is usually where the meat of the quality and ranges of expressions come from. As you can see in Limes' example, she uses Vbridger to more accurately track her face and especially mouth placement which allows it to move with a significantly wider degree of motions than any corporate program allows.

Sayu's model was also drawn by Yuniiho but Oykeli rigged it, and I'm yet to see a more lifelike 2D model.
