Btw the majority of people that get a brain tumor removed will rarely live more than 10+ years after the operation because they will present serious neurological ramifications from the extremely traumatic (to the body) incisions that are done in the brain.
The few that do survive past 10 yrs usually experience a manner of neurological conditions like early onset dementia and so on because again, you fucked with your neurons to gain more time.
The lucky ones are the ones which just experience vital organ shutdown suddenly, they don't have to worry about agonizing at all.
Also, there's a very large chance that a second tumour or multiple will appear again in the 10 yrs timeframe.
Brain tumors are fucking scary, the "good" son of Joe Biden died of an inoperable one and they have fuck you money to spare and now even more so, yet that much cash couldn't do shit against the tumour he had. Dude experienced one of the worst ways to go.
No, don't go researching how one feels or starts because you could become a hypochondriac if you are easy to scare. You are fine. You are not sick with that.

Very much depends on the type of tumor. A buddy of mine had one on his pituitary gland, they went up through his nose and took it out just fine. But of course, the one in the OP is more serious and she's probably fucked.

>>77977801
>majority of people that get a brain tumor removed will rarely live more than 10+ years post operation from the extremely traumatic (to the body) incisions that are done in the brain.
I had a brain tumor removal 3 years ago and I'm doing good. I have frequent health checkups and MRIs and all of the reports are fine. I don't think I'll die anytime soon. I think you are imagining all brain tumors are of same severity as what you hear in news or see on television.
The severity of brain tumors greatly depends on where it's located, whats it's size is and if it's benign or cancerous. In my case, I had a benign tumor of 5cm diameter in cerebellum(the lower hanging lobe at the back of the brain). Apparently I had the tumor since birth but I never noticed it because my symptoms were non existent. Usually people get headache, nausea, weakness etc but I had none of it. The only reason it was even found out was when I went for an eye checkup and no glasses were able to fix my slightly blurry vision. The doctor checked my retina and found that they were dry and were getting very low blood flow. So he then recommended an MRI to check if there is an issue with the vein. Turns out a brain tumor was putting pressure on the vein.
And I don't have any life threatening incisions on me. Yes, these incisions do cause some initial trauma to your body post surgery but that's what hospital is for. They monitor you for a week or more according to your need. Once your wounds heal to a good point and your vitals are normal, they discharge you. Now all I have to show for is a long scar that goes to my neck which I feel looks cool and is a conversation starter.
>No, don't go researching how one feels or starts because you could become a hypochondriac if you are easy to scare.
It's not that bad, I had to do it before my operation because I needed to know what was going to happen. But I was also very suicidal at that point of my life, so the idea that I could die didn't bother me in the slightest. They were going to give me anesthesia before operation anyway, so only two things could happen. Either the operation is successful and I wake up, or I die and never wake up from my sleep, not like any of them is going to hurt, so who cares.

Like brain tumor anon said, CNS tumors vary widely in behavior, aggressiveness and threat to life depending on the location and what type of tumor it is, most common of which are gliomas and meningiomas (prolly this >>77994329 anon's mom's brain tumor).
From a radiologic point of view, the tumor looks benign on MRI and based on the location (looking like a midline intraventricular tumor), which is impinging on the optic chiasm, manifesting in this chuuba's visual impairment. It may be like what anon said - a neurocytoma (which is pretty quite rare), barring out an ependymoma, choroid plexus papilloma or even an astrocytoma, all of which are relatively benign, given the imaging findings.
Well, the docs will know once they get the histopath findings of the tumor and subsequent immunohistochemical and molecular studies if warranted anyways.

>>78015617
It's most likely that they do an endoscopic biopsy first with intraoperative assessment to determine whether its benign or malignant then they do subsequent excision of the tumor with lobectomy of the surrounding area or they opt to do chemotherapy or radiotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor to minimize any intraop or postoperative risks and complications.
