I’m someone who doesn’t drink because I when I choose to drink, I can be an extremely cruel and unpleasant person. I know this happens when I choose to drink, so I personally choose not to drink and haven’t had alcohol since at least July 2021. I can’t become the person I am when I drink if I simply do not drink. I just don’t use the magical girl transformation power to turn into Sailor Bully.

I would guess the majority of people don’t have this issue and can drink — good for them. But, just because other people can be well-behaved while drinking doesn’t mean I can be. Just because other people can drink doesn’t mean I can.

It’s like operating a car. Some people can drive. Some people can’t drive and are hazards on the road. People who can’t drive safely should not drive, especially around other people. People who can’t drink safely should not drink, especially around other people. You and I both fall in this latter category.

I would highly recommend you reconsider your relationship with alcohol and social settings. I am not saying you need to quit drinking. You need to figure out the cost-benefit balance between your drinking, your social reputation, and your relationships. Are there other streamers who can be fun and drink on stream? Absolutely. I am not anti-alcohol or anti-drinking on stream in many cases. But you and I aren’t those people. Just because a stream is open to people drinking doesn’t make it the right decision for us to drink.
