Yeah, her strengths were always as a performer. Right-next-to-top-tier singing voice and top tier dancing. But the hololive audience grew to want comedians more than performers. I think she’ll get there, but it will be just as slow as it has always been, and she didn’t need to change to begin with. But she thought she did, so I’ll support her through this, too.

Since you're asking I might as well put my thoughts here. I'm always a bit surprised by these posts since I was usually the only one with maybe another anon who posted about Aki in /hlgg/, even during dead hours
I do wish for more solo streams, but I'm ok with where Aki is now. There are dozens of streamers who pull 1K- viewers in the VCR circle so, Aki doesn't need to worry about being big enough when doing stuff with them, they just want to hang out and she's happy enough to join. I like Hololive and Aki has nice collabs and friends there, but there is this passive pressure to get bigger there that comes from them being idols. VCR is more casual so it's nice, some of the fans are huge dramafags though, I'm relieved and also a bit anxious Aki might be targeted by them eventually, thankfully she hasn't had any issue so far
Regarding the bar streams, she's said a few times singing damages her throat so she's been trying to limit it, even when she was still doing the bar streams. You could go 'but streaming for 7 hours in a row doesn't?' and I do think she's telling the truth, her voice often sounded rough for days at times when she was trying to do utawakus. I'd prefer not to see the return of Aki taking a break every other week or go for months at a time like in 2021 where she took a throat surgery because it got that bad.
I do want to see some solo let's plays and crepe collabs though, they've been a long time coming now

Well her sub growth is the worst it's ever been

She's been decreasing the amount of streams she's been doing with ecelebs. She did 9 last month and 5 of those were for the Street Fighter 6 CRcup. Those tournaments, as well as the final day of VCR, are the only eceleb collabs that get her a substantial amount of superchats.

Like I’ve said before, I think it’s generally a mistake to stray too far from what you know to do best. Aki fans are extra loyal, so it’s not like they’ll abandon her, but stuff like artists and fanart >>77354073 are more feeble and arguably as important for promotion.
On the other hand, it’s true that the vtuber space is increasingly saturated, but I’d think Aki has room to grow yet.

As an aside, I think it’s generally a bad idea to try and cozy up to the fighting game community and put a lot of energy into getting good at fighting games and so on. Fighting game fans are, as a general rule, terrible fans. They won’t stick around, or will be petty about it if they do. It’s not worth the energy.

I think her best avenue for growth would be to steadily collab with other holos. She always gets a big bump of support and recognition after the Fests and such, for example. From cross-pollinization. I don’t know that the wider world of edgelords is interested in sweet idol vtubers—they’d already be here if they were.
Stuff like concert cameos are a better use of her time, imo.

I enjoy her SF6 streams, admittedly I'll prioritize a different holo when they overlap but I'll watch Aki when I can. I'm not gonna give Aki or any of the other holos using modern controls shit for it I'm just happy they're playing Street Fighter, the purity shit about classic controls is reserved for non vtubers.

Specifically Aki shouldn't get buddy buddy with the western FGC, I don't know about JP but the western FGC will just take advantage of her but that's not something Aki should have to worry about.
